Biography > Queen Biography for 1997
Last updated: June 17, 2009
John Deacon's last involvement with the band (as the bass player) was in 1997, when the band recorded the track "No-One but You (Only the Good Die Young)". It was the last song recorded by Queen, and it was released as a bonus track on the Queen Rocks compilation album later that year. Due to demand from Queen fans, the song was later released as a single reaching #13 in the UK chart.
From this point, John Deacon has been involved in only the "business side" of the group choosing to retire from music. He has rarely been seen at public events, with one of the few sitings being in 2002 at the premiere of the Queen musical.
