Hello all,

This great weekend for Queen shares is not yet over - this just came up on Dime - I share it here for everyone who does not have access to Dime.  Thanks a million to the taper and uploader for making it available to the rest of us!

Here are the setlist and original notes:

Artist: Queen
Date: 1977-03-13
Location: Seattle, WA

04. Somebody To Love
05. Killer Queen ->
06. The Millionaire Waltz ->
07. You're My Best Friend ->

22. Big Spender
23. Jailhouse Rock Medley*

Notes:
Yet another in a long line of JEMS master recordings. This recording captures Queen touring in support of the A Day At The Races album in superb sound quality. Unless our research is incorrect this is the first time (June 2009) this recording has ever been circulated complete(previous known versions are missing Tie Your Mother Down, Stone Cold Crazy and Keep Yourself Alive), in the correct running order and from a non LP bootleg source.

Size : 393 MB.

No artwork (unless you count a photo of the tape recorder and mike as artwork) but we have experts here who I'm sure will come up with something brilliant!

Good download and enjoy!  As always, keep lossless files lossless :))

Thanks for your kind words and the note.  Indeed, I had Sweet Lady listed as part of the "presumed setlist."  But now we know they didn't play it, so I've changed the entry.

Cheers!

It's the same source, so this is the pre-LP some people have been wanting to hear for decades.

Thanks dear Marknow for the reupload !!!
I just finished listening to the Boston '76 tape, the sound is just incredible, of course while seeing at the hardware used for the recording, we could expect that !! this is excellent, Freddie's voice is heard in such details... Well, I go off topic !!! Let's see what this Seattle 1977 Pre-LP version has in store for us....

Thanks everyone, from the taper to the sharer, to Ginger, to Marknow, and to everyone who helped this recording circulate with an excellent quality preserved.

One question, will all that continue, and should I cancel my holidays to be sure not to miss anything ? ;o)

It's the Boston recording taht would need a slight speed correction. For this one, I don't know, I didn't have the time yet to listen to it... Too many downloads these days....

I did a pitch correction with goldwave I slowed it down to 96%. I used the Studio version of Boh Rhap to compare the intro to it. It sounds just about right. My upload speed is terrible (DSL). Maybe someone with goldwave and a good upload speed can do a torrent or a rapidshare?
Something I noticed about the Prerecorded intro, Did Freddie sing "I'm just a poor boy, nobody loves me" Live for this intro?

I don't think so. Sounds like somebody accidentally nudged the volume knob on the prerecorded track. The vocals seem identical to the studio version.

goa wrote:

No, if I'm right there is no 24/96 version for that one, only for the Dan Lampinski recordings.

I had a strange experience with that recording. Today, I was driving for some time, so I was mucky I brought this recording with me.
And while I was listening to the intro to "The Prophet's Song", I just pushed the volume button up. Believe me, do the same, put the wife and the kids outside (find any reason !), push the volume at full blast (well, at least until the voice gets slightly distorted !), and listen to Freddie playing with his own voice and echoes. Close your eyes (don't do that while driving of course !), and imagine yourself in the hall, with the guy in front of you and his mike, producing that loudness alone. Enjoy that sweet moment !!! Wonderful with that quality, you imagine yourself in the hall without any problem !! Then you're ready to enjoy Boh Rhap, classic among all classics.
And I had a second of pure excitement when I heard the few measures of 'Stone Cold Crazy'. The guys from Dream Theater came on stage, joining Queen !! For two tracks, 'Stone Cold Crazy' and 'Keep Yourself Alive', they played alongside Brian May, doing the echoes themselves, playing the same notes as Brian, but one second gap late compared to Brian, to mimick the echoes he usually uses. God, that was stunning !!
The problem is, while Liar began, I found it was nothing but a dream. But hell, they added even more power to the set, it was an incredible experience !!!
I really should stop smoking now ;o)

Queen in the 70's had all they needed to be a leader band : Freddie's voice was still in top form, creativity was there every second, the energy was at his maximum, and they showed such a huge power, that I would give all I have to come back in the past and be in the audience of one of these shows. Really the best period for Queen. Amazing !!

Thanks a lot Dan for having taped and shared this recording, you made me fly for a few minutes....

To answer a few questions since I am the guy who uploaded this originally at dime. The speed is fine on the recording, it was double checked before posting and no corrections were needed. All JEMS master recordings are transferred at 24/96 and if enough interest is there can be posted as such at a later date but there is no plans as of now to provide this or any other JEMS master recordings in 24/96. Finally since I am sure it will be asked at some point, this is the only Queen show that JEMS ever taped.

One is a hell of a lot more than zero.  I've wanted to hear the uncut pre-LP for about 10 years, but I honestly thought it would never happen.  I just finished listening to it (along with the Lizzy opening set), and it was joyous.  Thanks a ton for getting it out there.

Of course, a 24/96 version would be great, but I'm sure there are plenty of other shows by other bands that should get out first.

Thanks again Weedwacker! As many others have said before me and will after me, it's fantastic to finally have the complete pre LP version.

It was a glorious listen, certainly combined with the Thin Lizzy opening set.
An evening of great rock ' n roll!

Am I the only one who thinks that this Seattle master sounds actually worse than the LP version? I know, this is the master so it must be better but it needs some equalizer work. The LP sounds very clear and has enough treble. The sound of the master is by far not that clear. Maybe anybody here could play with equalizer a bit?

Apologies.
As I posted, the one I read had a speed issue was the new Boston 1976 uploaded recently.
The Seattle 1977 sounds perfect.

About 24/96, there is no hurry, but surely would be welcomed.
