The Queen Hub is a Direct Connect (DC) programme enabling users to share not officially released Queen files like mp3 or flac concerts, video files, covers, jpgs and any other unreleased file.

To become a member you need to apply to the hub owner for a user account. You are required to share a minimum of 2 GB Queen files and allow at least 2 members to download from your shared folder. You are also required to share your downloads from the hub for at least 6 weeks in your shared folder. Sharing of non Queen material is allowed but the majority should be Queen related - the hub is not Kazaa:) In return you have unlimited access to the shares of the other hub users and the chance to meet collectors from all over the world. The hub has a general chat room and a private message function to allow the members to communicate in the hub. The official hub website also has a message board which can only be viewed by registered members.

At the moment we have about 700 members and while you are downloading (and uploading) your most wanted files, you can make a talk in the chatroom of the same program to discuss some queen-facts or just talk about whatever you want.

For every newcomer, the operators are very busy to make new accounts so it could take some time to get an answer from the operator.

and one more thing... DON'T trust ANYONE in there, It was GREAT, until.... I was banned.. why was I banned, for trying to start my own hub with my own reasons.. all of a sudden I AM THE BAD guy.. well SCREW them.. I did NOTHING wrong, I was not out to deceive ANYONE, but I was taught a very vaulable lesson.. DO NOT TRUST ANYONE... (Oh, and the use of caps here is not meant for yelling, but for making a point...)
and I really don't care who attacks me for this or not.. because of that, I have lost all love for file sharing and almost for Queen... But in fairness.. Bokke had a nice place, until the freedom of speech was taken away...

To join the Queen HUB just send them an email including the following data:

a) Username you want (you can add a couple of alternatives in case it is already taken)
b) Password
c) Email address
d) Geographical location (City, country)
e) How much queen (related) can you share at the moment (approx.)
f ) Any comments (why do you want to join, what do you expect from the HUB, or tell something why you are a Queen fan, or leave it blanc).

Send this information to: thequeenhub@yahoo.com

Once the administrators of the HUB approve and create your account you will receive a confirmation email with the instructions to connect to the HUB, the current rules you must follow and the latest news.

It can happen that you must wait a few days before getting an answer.

Flac files are allowed. The 2 GB mean that you must share 2 GB of unreleased Queen files, it has nothing to do with your upload/download speed. You create a shared folder with 2 GB to share with the other users, open 2 slots and share the files you download from the hub in a sub folder for at least 6 weeks, preferably much longer.

You don't have to upload 2 Gb, you have to share them. If someone wants to download a file form you, you will upload it; if no-one wants your file, no uploads. I think.

And you have to share what you download for 6 weeks, but that doens't mean you have to be ther every day. You could also never connect anymore. I think.

no...only DC++ and change a few things in the settings. All is very clear in the guide on the website.

I go add tomorow all the waiting accounts (aprox 25 people).

I add them once in 7 or 10 days. It is easier for me to do that in a big "add-session" than every day a few.

I'm not very good-healthy last fews months, that's why people are waiting longer than expected.

I connected today for the first time to the Hub and I don't intend to break any rules (I simply hate to be kicked out), so I'll have to ask this simple question: I'm really new to hubs and this sort of things and I have no idea what "connecting twice to the same user" means. Does that mean that I can't download two different files from the same user? Or does it mean that, after downloading what files I wanted from somebody, I'm not allowed to download from him anymore, never?
I know it's darn stupid what I'm asking, but I really don't understand what it means and I don't wanna get banned for such a stupid reason. Please help me out with this!

It means you cannot download two files from one user at the same time. You can download the complete share of a user one file after another, that's not a problem, but you cannot use two slots from one user at the same time.

I can´t help the speed from my server.
It allways depends on how many people are on at the same time.
If you are the only one, you should have a download speed of 15-20 kb.
And:
On my serverpage is a direct link to Queen Hub and Queenzone.I´m just running this server for my personal pleasure. And maybe it can help some people to reach the 2 GB Min amount to enter the hub.

I have DC++ 0.670 and when i have tried to connect, I have received message: "Your Client Version DC++0.108 is too old. Please Download the latest one at:- http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net";

I have closed the option to check the status of the DC++ client (there are more people who have problems with logging in) so I hope you can login now

It seems to be not a hub problem because you don't receive a message what is wrong with your settings when you try to loggin.
Do you have a router or a firewall ?
If yes, check this site: http://www.dslreports.com/faq/dc

They have lots of "answers on difficult DC++ questions"

Check if your firewall let you connect to the queenhub. Recheck all your settings (accountinfo and especially the adres of the hub: queenmp3.no-ip.com or thenewqueenhub.no-ip.org:430

It is written : Write /slots <number> so that would give /slots <2> ? But that doesn't work. I don't understand that...Maybe I'm dumb.

Click on the 2nd last icon at the top - it looks like a notepad and a pencil.

Click on the word Sharing. (Actually, go through ALL the options. It wil help you understand how the hub works better)

At the bottom right there is an upload slots number. Increase this to 2* however many hubs you connect to. If you are only connecting to one hub, put the figure at 2. If you connect to 2 hubs put it at 4 etc...

Click on OK, then right click on the hub tab down the bottom and reconnect. Simple.

Can somebody tell me please if the hub is down at the moment? When I try to connect is always "connecting" but never getting in.

I hava mora than 3 Mg of files so that is not the problem.

The hub is online again now. There were some problems with a not correct working virusscanner. It took a while for removing all the dammn viruses. Everything is clean and okay now.

It seems that there is a weird connecting problem.

I have installed now the latest release of the queenhub-server software, hopefully you can login again now.

If you have still problems, you can login at: thenewqueenhub.no-ip.org:430 with the same username/password as on queenmp3.no-ip.com. This other hub is running much older software. I try to solve the problem as soon as possible.

The installation of the latest hubserver software is a succes. At least one person with the same connection problems as described before, can login again now without problems.

Just try to login to the hub as you did before is my advice now.

Please don't sent an request email if you have only a AOL.com email adress.

AOL doesn't let me send a welcome email to you.

Try to use an other email-adress (yahoo or hotmail or something else)


For people who have requested me in the last 3 weeks for an account for the queenhub, they have all have an welcome email now (except the people who have used an AOL.com emailadress) For this people with an AOL.com adress: please send me a new request and give me an other emailadress than AOL.com.

I've just d/l all the software to join the hub and have 3.5gig of queen stuff.

I connect with DC++ 0.674 and it connects to http://queenmp3.no-ip.com/ but it says 0 users, and its just a blank screen, any pointers?

I can connect to other public hubs and it lists users and their files but the Queen Hub is not working for me.

And I've had to enter a username but nowhere in the preferences have I needed to enter a password so I was thinking the problem lies therein? Where do I enter a password?

Hi!

Hope you will forgive this question.

I have been a fan of Queen for very many years (I was at their Knebworth concert - a defining moment of my life).

Unfortunately, I have not done any file sharing on the web before, so aprt from the official releases 9some albeit rare) I have nothing to share apart from one video.

As I cannot share 2GB of stuff, does that mean I am not allowed to join? :)

There are two hubs these days:

1) a strict Queenhub with a minimum of 2 GB Queen (unofficial queen-files ofcourse)

2) a not-strict Queenhub with a minimum of 0 bytes Queen (also only unofficial queen-files ofcourse)

just send an email with your wanted username/password to: thequeenhub@yahoo.com

There are some problems with the Queenhub at the moment. Not everyone is able to connect to the Queenhub. It's a very weird problem. I have not a quick-made solution for it at the moment.

I want to ask everybody who has an account for the Queenhub and can't login because of some loggin-problems to send an email to: queenhub@home.nl

you can also add this email-adres to your MSN Messenger.

In some cases it is more easy to solve the problems with a messenger program instead of sending emails.

I hope you have some patience....i'm working on the problems these days.

I'm working on new hub-server software.
First testings with 2 people who can't login with the current software, can login with the new software; so there is no problem with my router and there is a problem with the hub-server software.

I have to do some extra research next few days (hopefully I can find also a script to convert all the accounts to the new software).

I let you all know when everything is okay.

I'm still working for the more bad problem that a few (I guess 20 people in total) can't login to the hub since the beginning of june.
I haven't found the problem yet, but other software makes it possible for those people to loggin. I'm converting a few scripts these days. When i'm ready with, I let you know.

I have bought a new router now and it seems everthing works correct now. All login problems are history now.

Sometimes it can take a week because I have also a life outside the hub / internet.
In some minutes I go add all the waiting queenfans so you will receive soon your welcome email with all the needed details of the Queenhub.

Hello Suigi, can you try to be more clear with the failure message which you receive.
I had today a major PC crash, so I had to reinstall lots of software (including windows XP).
So the hub was offline before for about 2 or 3 hours.
Now everything works fine.

You can send an email to queenhub@home.nl with the detailed problems when you try to login.

I already belong to a Def Leppard hub and I have several GB of non-Queen related material. However, I am interested in joining the Queen hub. Anything that I would download, I would offer for others. It's the same old question related to experience: How can I get experience to get the job when I can't get a job to get the experience??? Same with joining hubs, how can get the songs if I can't join to get the songs?

Bokkepoot has two hubs: one is the main Queen Hub where you must have a majority of Queen material to be in it, but the other has less restrictions and is for fans like you.

You can go to the smaller hub, download some unofficial Queen stuff, then come to the big hub when you have enough material.

Click on file / settings / connection settings.
Click now on Passive (instead of Active mode)

This must work, but you can't download from other passive users.

Reason for the fact that you can't download in active mode must be a not good configured firewall or a router onv your PC.

If people 3 times try to login with a wrong password, that person is automaticly banned. From time to time I remove these bans. Be aware that the password is case-sensitive. The best is to copy/paste your password from the welcome-email........I do the same when I add new accounts.

The Hub is great, and I am now very happily in posession of some fantastic material.

However, I can't find an answer for this elsewhere...How can I set a maximum upload speed? I am (of course!) very happy to upload files, but not so happy about it taking my entire up-stream bandwidth.

If I could set a maximum of, say, 16K/second upload, it would be very helpful.

Hello. I'm an old hud user. Now i'm workind with a restricted network and I can't connet. But I don't know if is that the reason because of I can't connet or if maybe I have to send again my user name and password.
I tried to connet in passive mode but I can't. Can anyone explain me how to open a specific port for the hub?

Once it is in your queue, it stays there until it downloads or you remove it. One trick you can do is search for alternatives of that particular file to see if there is another source to download from.

Ask an OP in the hub or ask in the general chat window if you have anymore questions like that. Bound to get a quicker reply.

Then it just says

"disconnected from hub"

I'm having problems connecting to the hub. I'm sharing 2.17GB but I keep getting kicked bc it says I'm not sharing at least 2GB. It's all Queen material, Roger material, and Cross stuff.

Lisser - If you have Bittorrent ... did you open "file transfer" from your "SETTINGS" tab on your toolbar? There you need to make sure you have specified a "Shared Folder". Long shot ... but I hope this helps.

I bet all their slots are already being used. I know for sure that Markmow has no slots available. Everyone wants a slot from him. ;)

Try using the "-findslots" command in the "Queen Heaven" Chat window to find users with available slots and/or use the search function to find what you are looking for (and make sure at least one slot is open).

What kind of message do you receive when you try to connect ?
If it is "no slots available" than is the explanation of Rip van Winkle alright.
When it is "connection timeout" and you are in active mode in the hub, you can solve it by logging in in passive mode.

If you are in passive mode, it is possible that you are trying to connect to somebody else in pasive mode. This never works.

Ask me in a private message in the hub about this problem. Maybe I can help you out of this problem

I got some sad news.

I don't know if you have ever downloaded from the user called DragonAttack

Yesterday when I installed my new computer I was so f-u-c-k-i-n-g clumsy that I had my external harddrive connected to the computer. This whole hdd got erased. No backup. 230GB gone. Including a up to date Queen collection with the most recent rare downloads from Queenzone including some new dvd's from the tour and the recently released Houston DVD.

I had a total of 19gb of MP3 concerts. Including the Q+PR ones it would have exceeded over 200 concerts and 22-23gb.

25gb of video, including loads of concerts, documentaries.

20gb of various. Including studio work, solo stuff and such.

The total amount of Queen exceeded 70GB

My point?

It took me damn long to build up the whole collection. I hope some of you can help me build it up again by giving me free slots and I will try to download so much as possible to rebuild my whole collection again (wich might take months).

It seems that the DC++ website has an error at the moment.
I have found a mirror on the internet to get the program: http://download.soft32.com/files/15504/DCPlusPlus-0.674.exe

After downloading this program, you can set it up as mentioned in the help guide. You can use the hub-adres and your login-info to enter the Queenhub.

Hi everybody:

I would like to apologize with all the users of The New Queen Hub, because i didn't share all i download.

I have my reasons for that:
1. I only have 8 gb of hard drive.
2. Maybe i'll have to take off my internet connection (i can't pay for it).
3. As some people know, i'm sutdying Social Work, and now i have to study for my degree exam (probably end of December or beggining of January), so i'll not be at the hub until January.

But for the new rule (because of my fault) i'll start sharing what i download, and other things i have.

I didn't know where to put this but this seems to be the best place to ask:

I recently installed DC++ again since I haven't used the QueenHUB for months. Anyway I logged in fine and all but I can't seem to connect to anyone. I've never had any problems before so I'm not sure what the problem is. I've configured my ports as usual and people can download from me but I just can't download anything from them.

If anyone can help, please do.

Hello Jay,

It seems there is something wrong with your router and/or firewall. Be sure that you have opened the same ports as you have given to the DC++ program.

If the problems are still there, I can only recoment you to login to the hub in passive mode. In this mode you can download from active users in the hub. Sad that you can't download from other users which are in passive mode.

I'm having lots of problems with DC++. Until yesterday i had the .686 version, now i've downloaded .687 version, and it says

"Error while importing symbol 'RegisterWindowMessageW' from DLL 'unicows.dll'! The aplication will terminate now"

What should i do?

Perhaps you should re-install the old version and wait until this problem is solved. DC software is full of bugs and if you have a version that works - keep it:) At the moment users are kicked for "PM flooding" and Marco is working on this, too.

People who are doubting to send an email to the hub..... just send one. everybody can join or:
the Queenmp3 hub (minimum share is 2 GB not officially released Queen files.
The new queenhub (minimum share is 0 GB)

send the mail tomorow or on thursday and I can add you this week to the hub.

PS There are no costs for you to join the hub. If you think: "I can't bring rare or not early published files to the hub" It's no problem. There is not a rule that you must share rare Queen items.

With regard to DC software, I would like to recommend the program I'm using. It's called oDC. It looks remarkably similar to the regular DC++ client. It's free, really easy to configure and use, and if there are any bugs I have yet to find them. On top of that it's open source. Download from here:

I have a question about the Hub. I have found some very interesting things - both video and audio there. And quite often I haven't seen those bits uploaded to QueenZone (in Torrent or Rapidshare). What's the "policy" about sharing stuff like that? Do I need to ask for permission from the person I downloaded it from? I'm just asking because I don't want to step on anyone's toes ;)

If you download something in the hub, you are free to do what you want, although selling on ebay is not approved of. However, some files may be eligible for the hub but not for Queenzone, so it's better to make sure it has not been officially released.

A failure in my router did close my internetconnection during a few hours yesterday.
The hub is online again now.
It happens sometimes that the router is freezing.

Hopefully this will not happen next week when I'm on holiday for a week.
The hub will be online during this week.

Next time you log on the hub, please contact the main operator, Zeni or me. Just right click on the name in the right user window and choose "send private message" or send a message to Pm-the-ops in the same way. We can help you.

You can also tye a message into the main chat and users sure will help you on.

As Ms. Fahrenheit told before...please be patient because of some private life problems and ofcourse the f**** heat outside.
It's over 30°C here in my PC-room; not an ideal temperature to answer mails and adding new queenfans to the database.

Be patient. All files which are in the Queenhub have a very long retentiontime. Most files are available here for many years now.

Open DC++ click on file
click on settings
click on sharing.

On the left under part of this window you can see:
"upload slots" with a number behind.
if you are in one hub, the number of slots must be two.
If you are in more than one hub, the number must be "the number of hubs multiplied by 2"
for example if you are in 4 different hubs, the humber must be 4*2 = 8.

I hope I have helped you a little with it.

When I watched to my PC this morning, I saw that my computer restarted automaticly, so the Queenhub was offline

PS. When you are uploading to somebody and the queenhub is going offline, the exsisting connections will stay until one of both people close the connection.

There is a second Queen hub that works together with this one. If you go to that second hub, which has no minimum requirement and is meant for users like you, you can be sure to download 2GB of non-official material. Once you do download 2GB, then join the big hub.

Send an email to the Main Operator and he will get that information to you as soon as he can spare some time.

You need at least 2 slots per hub.

Go to Settings

then Sharing

then look at the bottom where it says "Upload Slots" - change this to 2

If you are only in this hub, then 2 slots is fine. However, if you connect to other hubs at the same time, you need to add 2 slots per hub.

@ Javier - I think the new version is okay but I have not tested it myself. To be honest, I don't like to change software as long as it works and there is no bug. I have DC++0.674 but the newer versions are certainly good, too.

Open DC++
click on file
click on settings
click on downloads
look on the first row of this window.
It shows the location where you store your downloads.
remember or write this location on a paper.
go now to sharing and click on "add folder"
browse now to that earlier mentioned folder.
click two times on okay now.
After the automatic hashing of the content of the folder, you have added your downloads to your sharelist.

I hope this will be clear for you.

I'm adding new accounts at the moment.
This is a manual job to do. It takes a few hour to add everyone. I have a very busy time these days because of my girlfriends mother. She is in a terminal fase of her life and I'm very busy with organising things last weeks.
I hope you and anyone else can be a little patient .
Don't worry, I read all the mail and will answer everybody. I check even always the spam-box of the yahoo-account to try to find "wrong-spam-mails" from queenfans.

Anyway everybody who has written a request mail last month will receive a welcome mail in his inbox in a few hour.

Hello everyone.

Thank you all for the condoleances.

In the meanwhile and in the little spare free time I had last (hectic) days, I haven't found a solution to bring the hub back online.

I have tried everything.

Next days I try to reinstall my PC again with old original windows XP software. Maybe this will work.

I'm almost sure that there is something wrong installed on my PC.

Maybe is because you installed Windows Vista, and the software you use for the Hub isn't compatible at all.

It is a windows problem here I guess. Also a "pirated XP version" gives problems.

Thanks for getting it going again, despite your sad loss.

Anyone else getting a problem? I can't sign in to the hub, I get the message "No connection could be made because
the target machine actively refused it." when I try to conncect.

I guess I was still updating the PC yesterday so in that time the hub was offline.

Anyway, it's online now; all update-work is ready so no problems hopefully next days/weeks

I have a question about DC++... i downloaded the latest version (i don't remember the version) and sometimes it starts to refresh file list, and automatically my share goes down. Example, i have 20 gb, and after the refresh file list it losses sharing...

Some people try to get my file list after the refresh for an specific file, and it doesn't appear, and i have to reboot DC++ to make it appear... Same happens to me when i get file list from other people.

Can you explain this to me please and how to fix it?

You need to open more slots.

You need at least 2 slots per hub. If this is the only hub you are in, then you must have 2 slots open.


Check your slots under the settings.

I have more than 2Go of files and I've read the manual but I try to connect to the hub, I always get this message:

You need to open more slots, which you can fix through the Settings menu. The Queen Hub requires at least 2 slots per hub.

Activations never expire for the Queenhub. Have a nice holiday !!

This week, or at least next weekend I go do a big update.

I think you have some problems with your router and/or firewall. You have to open in your router and/or firewall the same port as which you have to open in your DC++ software. Check www.portforward.com for more information about routers/firewalls and how to open slots in combination with DC++.

That was the "difficult" but best way, you can also logging in in passive mode. go to file / settings / connections and change "active mode" into "passive mode" try again to login and download for example my file-list. If this works, you can also download from all other "active mode" members. Downloading from other "passive mode" members isn't possible.

I hope that it works for you, if not, you can give me a private message in the queenhub, so we can chat about it.

Open DC++, click on Files >> Settings >> Sharing
At the bottom you will see Upload Slots - make sure this is at least 2.

A few days ago I joined hub. It's wonderful place for every Queen fan and I really enjoyed it. I had to reboot my PC today. After that I wanted to reconnect the hub, but it says:
"The requested address is not valid in this context" - any ideas or suggestions?
By the way my nick is Pretender, maybe it could help somehow.

That means you do not have enough slots open to be in the Queenhub. You need 2 slots per hub, and the program automatically disconnects you if you do not.

Go to Settings and open up the appropriate slots and everything should work fine.

I would like to join the both DC++ hubs too. A while ago i was Admin on similar bootlegs hub for Metallica so work with dc++ is familiar for me.I think i have enough good Queen stuff to share so...

Just rejoined the hub after lengthy absence. There doesn't seem to be that many people logged in at any point these days... max I've seen is 6 including me. There used to be far more users... am I using the same hub?

I'm back from vacation in sunny Austria :)

The hub is offline at the moment because there is a hard to remove virus on my computer.
I'm working on it since yesterday evening but can't remove it.
I'm lucky that it has not damaged very much right now.

I'm backing up everything now and hope to install the fresh PC later today or tomorow.

The hub will be offline during the next few days.

The hub was offline from 3.00 until 6.00 last (european) night. That was because of some windows-updates. I have forgot to change the options from the windows updates from automatic into manual install.
Everything is changed now and I hope you can login again now.

A new firewall was blocking the hubsoftware.

That's kind of normal.

Next sunday morning european time I'm going to add all the waiting queenfans like you to the hub.
You receive a welcome message and you can login from that time into the hub to browse through 3.5 TeraByte of Queenmusic ;)

There are some problems with login in to the queenhub at the moment.
Reason is that all the software is running on an other PC at the moment because my own PC has to be repaired tomorow. I don't know why it is not good running. Some people can login, some can't login. Very strange.

From next thursday everything will be normal like before.

I could not connect but solved the problem by connecting to a public hub, closing the client and reconnecting again. I think somehow the old computer is stored in the DC++ cache, just a guess.

The Queenhub is offline since last night (europa).
I have no internet connection at the moment.

Serious damage of the hubserver software today (stupid VMware instalation !!!)

I have to put back a good working backup from the beginning of february 2009.
I will startup soon the hub and hope to add the users from the last months later tonight.

I really have to make more backups :(

Hello Everyone,

Just to tell you that there are some major problems with the Queenhub server software.

At the end, after buying a new router, there are still connection problems.
There are two types of server software possible to run:
1) a very old version of Ptokax (which I use for about 5 years now)
 + points: the hub is running relative good
 - points: almost all scripts are gone or not working

2) a new type of server called Ynhub:
+ points: lot's of new features and that software is running very good
- points: scripts are very hard to implement in this hub-software.

For the time being I have to choose for option 1.
I'm learning and testing in my spare free time option 2 in a so called "test-hub".

If you have connectionproblems, or if you have some questions, you can send me a private message with the function here on Queenzone.
I hope that I can help you with it.

I let you all know when everything is working fine.

It means that you must open two slots to be able to download. However, the hub will be down until tonight, anyway.
