Technically I wouldn't say it's from "silvers". They're home-made CDRs with someone's labels on them.

Glad to see this one finally out there. Hope it meets people's expectations.

Good point.
So would you go with
CDR(x) - EAC/Wav - Frontend/Flac 8
Or
AUD - CDR(x) -EAC/Wav - Frontend/Flac 8

Thanks.

Perhaps! You see, my copy is a "Master > 1st Gen Cassette > WAV > CDR (x)". So, perhaps you or someone else could share a small sample in WAV, so I can compare it to my copy.

Perfect... thanks!

Okay, it definitely matches my copy.

Next step:

Track 16 on disc 1... is it 3:31 or 3:33 ? I fixed a couple of the tape gaps on my copy, so perhaps that's the one that circulated. If it's 3:31, then this should be the lineage:

Master > 1st Gen Cassette > WAV > CDR (x) > WAV > FLAC level 8 > (GoldWave - edits smoothed) > CDR (x) > FLAC level 8

If it's 3:33, then it should be this:

Master > 1st Gen Cassette > WAV > CDR (x) > WAV > FLAC level 8

...unless it was burned to CDR again and then WAV>FLAC again. Since people have been so secretive about this show, it'll be nearly impossible to get a true lineage on any copy.

Nothing really, but it was an experimental period for the band, so all of the shows from April '82 are unique in their own right. But that's not the reason why most people wanted the recording. A select few kept it from the masses, so people pined after it. It's human nature to want what one can't have.

The Drammen recording sounds good, but the band definitely aren't in their stride yet, compared to Vienna and Leeds, for example. If one show from April is essential, it's Leiden 4-24-82.

I browsed through the recording quickly today, and I really liked the performance. The sound seems to be great as well (I just listened over my computer speakers, but anyway). On first glance it seems to be of the best 1982 shows. But a proper evaluation needs more listening, of course.

Excellent share, thanks a lot!

It's nice to see the typical Queenzone mentallity soo soon allready. People asking to seed, and complaining about how this doesn't work.

Apart from that, we're only on page 4 of this thread. We've had about 50 request threads concerning this release. How come the discussion ends as soon as it's shared. Looks like everybody immediately looses interest as soon as it's available. I didn't read a single review of this show in this thread yet. Did anyone actually listen to this show, or did you all just download it, convert it to mp3 and store it in the archives?

Oh yes, that's what I thought, too. Where's all the enthusiasm gone? I can remember the hype about the Houston 77 video. There was a huge discussion going on. Or were 90% just about "rapidshare please!" or "can't get this torrent thing running" ...?

Hey folks, this is a great show that only a few collectors have heard before! What are you waiting for?

No, I've listened to it. I just think it is an average Hot Space show with a great quality. Houston 77 is much more enjoyable show because I think Queen were much stronger in 77-78 than in 82 and so few shows are available from the American NOTW Tour that in my mind, Drammen is one more show from 82 as I have many many others. As Bob said, the two shows in Vienna, the Dortmund show (a very underated in my mind), the two Edinburgh shows and the Leeds show are better than this one.

Richy, you're a lucky guy :-)

Transmission works for me once in a while, but most of the time it doesn't show any peers. µtorrent on a PC is the only client I know of that works 100% of the time. I went through weeks of trial and error till I borrowed an old PC (from about 1998) and installed µtorrent there. Now I don't have any problems anymore!

Still Transmission is the best Mac client. It works very well on all torrents loaded from any other torrent site. But unfortunately not QZ!

Anyway, its a nice share. Perhaps Yamaguchi is next, it`s in great quality. Dunno the performance....
Posted by TheGameuser not visiting Queenzone.com

I don't even think it's that great quality. It's almost excellent, but mono sound. There are 10 shows from the tour that sound better than this one!

But like I've said before, all of these April '82 shows are interesting, because it was a very experimental tour for the band. In the end though, it's nothing truly essential. People pined after it simply for collectible value, so I'm glad it's out. Hopefully people will actually listen to it with ears that will compare it to the other April 82 shows, and see its value in that sense. Like really, how many more times (he he.. Zeppelin reference) did Queen play Liar after BoRhap?

The heck with that, how many more times did Queen play Liar in its entirety? I believe the answer is none, with the horribly-chopped, overly-synthed, painful Works medley being the only time after this that the song was played.

*EDIT*: Oops...they played it at the very next show.

Hi, try using AIMP Classic, or Winamp!
With Winamp you need to install the plug-in from FLAC Frontend:
>>> http://flac.sourceforge.net/download.html <<<

Install the program which allows you to encode and decode FLAC files and also within the process the FLAC plug-in is installed!

Good Luck!

Cheers!
