Yes, and I connected very well and it's going very well for a new torrent. :-)

Damn! Miami at last. Cool. I will download it when I get home (can't do it at the office). Thanks a lot, Maruga.

As I always do in this kind of threads, does anybody has a recording of San Diego 2006 for trade?? Or if you want to share it here, I wouldn't mind.

I haven't been much into trading in the past year but I wish I could have that concert since I was there (5th row on Brian's side, next to the catwalk). Greatest show in my life! And I've been to many.

Then I highly suggest you contact them or Mr Scully to find out! There is no reason not to be able to track down the lineage of a recording that is less than two years old... :)

Well, what could the lineage be?

- I got it from the guy who recorded it
- I don't use audio tapes, I don't encode to MP3
- multiple CD->CD copying is 100% losless (despite what some people think)

So most likely these FLAC files have *exactly* the same quality as the master.

So it would be something like...

Master -> CD-R -> FLAC Frontend -> FLAC Level 8

audience -> master -> cd-r
will do for me.

Like Mr. scully correctly pointed out: cd-r copying or FLAC encoding doesn't affect the quality of the original master recording.

Right... but it's still good to note how many digital generations a recording has been through. There is a chance that digital errors could occur during a transfer. Even aside from that, some people simply prefer to have the least number of digital generations possible.

We still don't have enough information. Was it burned directly from the master on a standalone burner, or was it WAV first?

To be even more accurate, it's always good to know what equipment was used, in case there are multiple sources from the same show... that way we can differentiate between the sources. If one was a minidisc and one was taken from a video, it's pretty obvious which is which - provided that everyone passes the lineage along.

So, here are a couple possible lineages:

Master > WAV > CDR (2) > WAV > FLAC Frontend level 8
Master > CDR (standalone) (2) > WAV > FLAC Frontend level 8

But we can't know for sure unless the above questions are answered... ! Any help?

I would like to say that my question about lineage was just rhetorical :) I was trying to point out that if we speak about a 2005/2006 recording, it's highly unlikely that it could be any different from the master. Most likely there won't be a single bit of difference.

Digital errors can appear only if the disc is heavily scratched or something. If not, then it really makes no difference if it's a second or 15th generation copy :-)

In most cases, yes. But you can still create a disc with digital errors by doing many things on the computer while burning, or if your burner is about to die.

Anyway, I think it's just good to document these things just for the sake of documenting them. It definitely wouldn't hurt! So, is there any way you can get in touch with the taper to find out what kind of gear he used to record and transfer it?

Thanks for this great share !
As I often ask in most cases, this is a torrent, and everybody is not able to use torrents, so is there a gentle Queenzoner who could upload this gig n mediafire or rapidshare once he finished downloading, to let every fellow queenzoner benefit from this kind share ?
Many thanks to everyone and to the original taper and uploader.

Regards,

Olivier,
France.

I posted the concert there too, and I added that lineage according to what Bob told me, but I still don't know the lineage.

Thank you Martin (Mr. Scully) for post here, and help us to know the lineage...

Someday we'll have the definitive lineage xD

Beyond that, I think what people really want to know is the equipment used in recording the show; mics, pre-amp, recorder etc.

Regardless, thanks for the upload!!
