Hey, got my video capture card-thingy today, and searched through my VHS collection for something neat to share with you. this is from from a swedish tv-show called "Kvällstoppen" and was aired in 1999 or 2000.

Unfortunately they did not air the complete song, but better than nothing, I suppose. :P Since this is the first time I've captured a video, I hope you're cool with flaws in the video, and give me feedback if something sucks.

File type: MPEG-2
File size: 152.39 MB

Duration: 00:02:33:14
Bitrate: 7.61 MB/sec
Resolution: 720x576
Frame rate: 25.00 fps

Sample rate: 48kHz
Bitrate: 224Kbps
Channel: Stereo

enjoy. /sami

Awesome... thanks! I've been hoping this one would come around.

The video is very jumpy. Is that the way it was broadcast?

edit:

I played it with VLC Media Player, and it's works fine. Phenomenal footage!!

Thanks a million for this! Unfortunatly, I'm not able to watch this video. When I try to open it, my computer slooooows down and freeze. I burned it to CD and try to watch it on my dvd player, but it looks like slow-motion.
Help, anybody :-) ?

I will have to scan through all my vhs's, which will take its time, but they concists of some "standard"-rated trade tapes and recorded tv-shows... nothing too exciting, I'm afraid. but I will come back if/when I find something of interest.

Yes, it was broadcasted that way, I believe. (compare the queenfootage to the sequences with the presenters)

I use "Avermedia DVD EZMaker Gold", quite cheap and handy. (http://computers.pricegrabber.com/video-capture-devices/m/59427627/st=product/sv=title/)

Thanks for the information about the video capture.

Can you tell us why this footage was being shown? I wonder how they have a copy of this in so much better quality than is floating around.

It's exactly the same source, just a pre-VHS version, and a bad film->NTSC->PAL conversion. Still it's GREAT to have this one

I don't think NTSC belongs in this lineage, since I recorded it from the TV in PAL. :P (that is if I understood your post correctly)

No, you didn't understand me :-) They have a weird conversion from film to NTSC back to PAL, which is what they aired :-) It needed to be sped up to be in sync with the soundboard audio. The source which BBC has and which can be found as an web stream on their web is in the correct speed. But that's just a small detail :-)

You misunderstand me, I mean how come the TV station has a good copy of this and why were they showing it.
