Hello Everyone !

A few hours to go before we have Queens-day here in Holland !
Time to make a special Queensday gift for everyone here on Queenzone.

As you know, last week bigV and myself started a huge "mega-torrent"
by sharing the earlier on mediafire and rapidshare uploaded Pittrek Best Of The Best concerts.
You can read about it on this topic:
http://www.queenzone.com/forums/1177349/announce-flac-pittrek-best-of-the-best-queenconcerts.aspx

We both were so happy to share and have uploaded approx 200 GB to spread this torrent.
We have managed to share this torrent in a record time of only a few days !!

All nice reply's on this topic has resulted that we want to make more of this kind of projects.

The first project that will start is the "Magic Tour Mega Torrent"

The main idea is to share year by year to make it more easy for "new Queenfans" to find all available Queenconcerts online in the best available quality.
It's just like a kind of library.
We have managed to find from (almost) every 1986 concert a FLAC recording!

All concerts are downloaded from the Queenhub, Queenzone-shares or torrent-sites like dimeadozen.
The concerts where I have my doubts if they are lossless or not, are marked with as "(probably lossy source)"
I have shared these "(probably lossy source)" files because nothing better is available (yet).

Only one concert (the first Zurich concert on 01 july 1986) isn't taped and can't be shared ofcourse !
Hopefully a recording of this concert will be found someday.

Sadly we have not found a FLAC recording from the first night in Munich (28-06-1986).
In the Queenhub is only a MP3 version available.
Hopefully somebody with the bootleg called "A Day In Munich" will be so generous to share this first night in Munich in FLAC format !

The MP3 version of this Munich concert will be only available as Rapidshare link, which you can find later in this post.

Good......enough blah blah for the moment.

The next concerts are shared in this Magic Tour Mega Torrent:

1986-06-07; Stockholm
1986-06-11; Leiden
1986-06-12; Leiden
1986-06-14; Paris
1986-06-17; Brussels (probably lossy source)
1986-06-19; Leiden (Almost Complete)
1986-06-19; Leiden (Incomplete)
1986-06-21; Mannheim
1986-06-26; Berlin
1986-06-29; Munich
1986-07-02; Zurich (probably lossy source)
1986-07-05; Slane
1986-07-09; Newcastle (Pitrek Best Of The Best)
1986-07-11; London (Bootleg)
1986-07-16; Manchester
1986-07-19; Cologne
1986-07-21; Vienna (Pitrek Best Of The Best)
1986-07-22; Vienna (Pitrek Best Of The Best)
1986-07-30; Frejus (probably lossy source)
1986-08-01; Barcelona
1986-08-03; Madrid
1986-08-05; Marbella
1986-08-09; Stevenage

5 concerts of the 1986 tour are not included in this torrent:
1986-05-11; Montreux (official release and mainly mimed)
1986-06-28; Munich (only available as MP3....is shared as bonus on Rapidshare)
1986-07-01; No concert-registration available
1986-07-12; London (official release)
1986-07-27; Budapest (official release)

All these concerts are checked with Audiochecker to determine the source of these files (lossy or lossless).
If Audiochecker has some negativ advise, I have checked the concerts also with Tau-analyzer.
If okay with Tau, I see them as lossless source, if not I have added the "(probably lossy source)" words to the file-name.

I don't have any lineage of every single concert because some are downloaded from the Queenhub.
In the early days of the Queenhub, sadly, it wasn't normal to create txt files with lineage info.
Thanks to the original taper/uploader of this concert where ever you are !

For people who can't download from torrent's or prefer to download from hosting site's.....yes I have a "few" rapidshare links ;)   :
Uploading to Mediafire isn't an option for me because it will take ages to upload a few parts each time. For Rapidshare I have a queue program to upload continue :)

Magic Tour Mega Rapidshare: In the next replies.

Have a nice download !

Please Keep the lossless ones lossless !

greetings

Great idea.

You should edit Dublin 86 to it's true venue to avoid further confusion.

The first topic is changed......sorry can't change the torrent and rapidshare :(

You are right, I will check the next "mega torrents" on this kind of failures.

Holy crap! This is an awesome share - thank you for doing this. I've already got all the Magic Tour but you can bet I'll be looking to see if you've got any alternative sources! And hopefully this will inspire people to do the same for the previous years. Fantastic stuff! Do you have the lineages for these recordings? Would really help to figure out what the sources are for each one.

Here we go for the Leiden 19-06 one:

Hello Queenzoners!

Yes, believe it or not: this recording was extremely rare up till now. For more info, please read further.

This share is dedicated to all hoarders of Queen bootlegs and people who call themselves “elite traders” because of their collection. In reality, most people get their gems by sheer luck. Like myself. Sure, I did my best in obtaining it, but in the end it all comes down to finding the right people at the right moment. Traders who act like they actually recorded a concert and act like they are so special and can’t stop bragging about that: you should be ashamed of yourselves.

I also, and above all, want to dedicate this share to the wonderful people who shared a lot of Queen bootlegs in the past: Bob, Peter, YV, Ginger01, Yara and many others. You know who you are!

I can't seem to enjoy it by just "sitting" on it. It feels good sharing this with you guys.

Did I consult any fellow Queen traders concerning this? No, I did not. It’s my own, individual choice.
Are the days of being taken seriously by Queen collectors over? Probably, yes. Do I care? No, not even in the slightest.

This should be mentioned: all credits go to Cor Klarenbeek who recorded this concert. He’s not a Queen fan but such effort should be awarded. Thanks Cor!

Okay, warming-up’s over. Let’s do some business, shall we? Action!

Here’s some info about this concert:

Comments:

Very rare, genuine and complete recording from the third night in Leiden during the Magic Tour. The only part that is missing are the first two verses and a bit of the guitar solo of Boh Rhap (batteries change & security passed by). Luckily another source has it complete, so a complete mix can be made. There are tape flips, but no other parts of songs are missing. There is only one ‘real’ cut, as stated above. About the recording itself:

Negative:

-         It isn’t very clear in general
-         There’s tape hiss
-         2 long tracks on each CD (although this can be fixed easily)

Positive:

-         Freddie can be heard singing really well!
-         The audience is great, singing almost every word and talking a lot (Dutch that is, some very funny comments and interesting things can be heard!), but this does not disturb the recording itself
-         A great atmosphere in general
-         It’s as good as complete!
-         Although it’s only G+/VG-, you can really enjoy the recording with headphones

It’s the last show with Freddie in The Netherlands, therefore a special recording.

Lineage:

AUD > Master Cassette > WAV > CDR

Some re-mastering after transfer : A bit of de-hissing and noise reduction.

Some info about taping this concert:

The person who taped this isn’t a Queen fan.
He loves rock music in general and decided to see the guys just “for a nice night out”.
He was a bit worried as he was stuck in a traffic jam shortly before the concert!
He luckily managed to get out in time as he started his tape recorder right before the intro of One Vision.
He missed the support act though.
Funnily enough, it was the first thing he did when he had entered the venue (and passed the security):
preparing his recorder.
He clearly didn’t want to miss a thing.
Not a fan, but such effort is truly remarkable!
He was standing near the mixing desk when he recorded the concert.

Enjoy!

Groenoordhallen, Leiden

unknown > CDR > WAV > Remastering > FLAC (level 8)

Comments:
Queen were in top form this night! So it's really a shame that this recording is not complete and is not in better quality available :-( 'Another one bites the dust' is cut and after that, the recording starts again from 'Love of my life' to 'Crazy little thing called love'. So a lot of songs are missing... However, if you're looking for a splendid performance with a great atmosphere, then get this one! Enjoy! Cheers, Tim (Epic Dreams)

Remastering: adjusting some track changes and edited a part just before 'Love of my life' that appeared twice in a row :-S

ONE SWEET MOMENT

Quality : Amazing

Lineage: "One Sweet Moment" (silvers) > WAV (EAC) > FLAC (TLH Level 8)
except track 07 from CD2 (Hammer To Fall) : "One Sweet Moment" (silvers) > WAV (Windows Media Player) >
FLAC (TLH Level 8)

Comments :
No surprises in the setlist. Now I'm Here (Reprise) has worse sound than the rest of the concert, so I think
it comes from another source. It has almost the whole recording a very stable sound with no major problems.
A funny moment during Tutti Frutti when Roger is a bit too late on the drums to start the heavier part of
the song. This is the complete concert.

comments:
this is very enjoyable recording of first night at Wembley.
some tape hiss(especially at queter parts),
begining of AOBTD is muffled(due to tape flip)
and some speed issues near last part of recording .
 But still
this recording has very  reach deep sound  and without any doubts is MAJOR upgrade to the version circulating in Queen Hub,cause
that one has very thin (maybe because of bad sound editing)

    THIS IS AUD RECORDING
SO LET'S NOT SPEAK ABOUT PROBLEMS WITH OFFICIAL STUFF

This is the second of two nights in Vienna for Queen. The sound quality on this is simply excellent. It's very nice to hear the Mustapha intro to Crazy Little Thing Called Love. This is one of the best Magic Tour shows in my opinion. They didn't play In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited tonight, instead they go right into Seven Seas Of Rhye after Tie Your Mother Down. This is sourced from the master cassette, so it simply can not get any better than this.

Comments:
This is one of the last shows of the famous Magic tour. It starts of in G/VG quality and gradually goes to VG. No "Queen's not gonna split up" speech before 'Who wants to live forever'. Maybe because they had a huge fight backstage in which nearly everything was destroyed... except for the television ;-) (see http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Towers/4511/tour86.htm)  As a compensation, Freddie sang the intro of 'Mustapha' ;-)

DO NOT SHARE THIS IN ANY FORM OF LOSSY FORMAT (WHICH MEANS MP3, WMA, OGG ETC.) Convert to lossy only for personal use. If this gets shared in any form of lossy format I will stop sharing.

Comments:
This is the last but one concert from the Magic tour. A nice show, but nothing special. There's a cut in the middle of 'Another one bites the dust' and one during the 'Guitar solo'. Probably tape changes, although I can't confirm this. I rated the sound as 'G'. However, most people rate it as 'VG'. But since the audience can clearly be heard, I don't think it is 'VG'. Remastering: correcting some track changes. Enjoy! Cheers, Tim (Epic Dreams)

Hi Marco,

I got a couple of questions / comments regarding this torrent :

Stockholm - which recording is it ? The second gen. source or the alternate hard2handel's master ?
Brussels - audiochecker reports my version to be lossless except God Save The Queen. Interested ?
Mannheim - I have created a compilation of best sources, it's shared here -
http://www.queenzone.com/forums/1175860/1986-06-21-mannheim-germany-2-source-compilation.aspx

Munich 28.6. - my copy has a strange spectrum, the frequency drops at cca 14 kHz, I don't think it's mp3 but definitely not CD quality. Is it the same version as shared here ?

Zurich - the same as Munich
Slane Castle - is it Bob's 2-source mix ?

Olivier shared an edited version of the radio broadcast of second night at Wembley -
http://www.queenzone.com/forums/1147078/a-day-at-the-stadium-flac.aspx

Cologne - the complete 2-source mix or the incomplete 1st gen or something else ?
Frejus - audiochecker reports it as being lossy, but I consider it lossless. What do the "experts" think ?

So thanks a lot for this share and which tour will be the next ?

An entire tour, wow!

A pity there's no recording of Zurich 1/7/86. Freddie's voice was really weak(worst Magic show for him)  the second night so I'd like to hear whether the first night was better.

Thanks for all the info - it would seem that some of the recordings are different sources from the ones I already have so I'll be downloading to take a listen! Thanks!

Hello Pittrek,

That are a lot of questions to answer. I give it a try.

Stockholm - which recording is it ? The second gen. source or the alternate hard2handel's master ?
I have really no idea. I have downloaded this one from the queenhub without any additional info.

Brussels - audiochecker reports my version to be lossless except God Save The Queen. Interested ?
Yes I'm interested in this one :) it will be an upgrade !

Munich 28.6. - my copy has a strange spectrum, the frequency drops at cca 14 kHz, I don't think it's mp3 but definitely not CD quality. Is it the same version as shared here ?
Zurich - the same as Munich
I have to check, I let you know this later.

Slane Castle - is it Bob's 2-source mix ?
I really have no idea. This one is also downloaded from the queenhub without any extra information.
When I see the creationdate of the flac file, all are from 30 september 2003.

Cologne - the complete 2-source mix or the incomplete 1st gen or something else ?
It is a complete recording, so I suspose it will be the complete 2-source mix (or something else)
If it will be the complete 2-source mix, I would expect some additional information in the original concert-folder, so I think it is something else.

I will do my "homework" better for the next concertyear. It was a first try and all questions and remarks are welcome :)

thanks for that.

greetings

Sorry.....
can only change it in the first post and will do that in a minute.
Anyway, there are more important things too hate about than writing a city-name wrong.

I'm thinking at the moment on the "terror-attack" by a stupid guy here in holland on Queensday.
5 people dead and also 12 people (seriously) wonded............Queensday is cancelled this year !!!!

really sad :(

I thought about you this afternoon while hearing that. Such a shame, and I learned a little after that this was not an accident but really some kind of terrorism act. Saw the video too... Really bad... Let's hope this won't happen again. Human nature is sometimes hard to understand...

Right, I've been doing my impression of Sherlock Holmes and this is what I've come up with by listening to clips, comparing fingerprints with my copies and using Bob's Bible (TM)!

1986-06-07 Stockholm:
This is surely some version of the source listed as "AUD > Master > 2nd Gen Cassette > WAV > CDR (x)" - it may even be the Gypsy Eye release from the same source. Could somebody who owns either of these recordings produce some fingerprints so that we can check?

1986-06-11 Leiden:
Judging by the fact that TYMD is missing, I'd say this is the first source listed on Bob's site. Could somebody please confirm?

1986-06-12 Leiden:
This is the first source listed on Bob's site with the digital errors in NIH and LOML.

1986-08-01 Barcelona:
Judging by the fact that this doesn't sound like complete ass I'd say it's some version of the first source Bob lists. Plus I've fingerprinted some sample files and they match mine.

1986-08-09 Stevenage:
This runs a little fast, has bucketloads of treble and doesn't match my copy of "Thank You All" but still sounds pretty good so I'm going to say it's probably from "Electric Magic". The only thing that bugs me is that Bob describes that recording as "pretty distant" but this doesn't sound that way to me. Again could somebody who has this bootleg confirm?

Hope this helps somewhat!

The Rapidshare-links are changed right now.
You can find the original all concerts in one archive here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/228037564/1986_Magic_Tour_Mega_Rapidshare.txt

The rapidshare links are sorted out now concert by concert.
Hopefully this one is more easy to use than the big archive.

"Olivier shared an edited version of the radio broadcast of second night at Wembley -

"
The bootleg A Day At The Stadium contains a recording from the first Wembley night.
This one is shared in this share.

Maybe I'm wrong, please let me know.

Can anyone confirm this ?
It seems I have made a failure with this concert.
If Piotreq is right, I have to change everything from 11-07 into 12-07
that means that the 11-07 wembly concert is wrong dated.

I'm sorry for this failure.... On the other hand it proves that I'm human....I'm making failures :)

Try using the FLAC plugin for WinAmp.  In the plugin settings, choose the function to write to WAV, and then play the file.  That always works for me.
