Comments:
This is the beginning of The Works tour. This wasn't their best tour. Roger had a shit drum sound and Freddie struggeled a lot with his voice during the tour. However, this is their first and one of their best (if not the best) shows of this tour. Great atmosphere, great performances of songs like 'It's a hard life'. There's a small cut in the beginning of 'Killer queen' and there seems to be a (very) small cut between 'Staying power' and 'Dragon attack'. Enjoy! Cheers, Tim (Epic Dreams)

In the spirit of recent Sharing i would like to add this. It's from a tape i have
lying around. The quality is only good. It also has 2 cuts from tape flips.
If you have a trade copy of this concert already you dont need this.

I transfered the tape to my pc using Eac and did some slight deesser with nero wave editor.

Here is the best known version of the audience recording from Queen's first of two consecutive nights in Milano (their only two shows in Italy).  This is definitely an upgrade of the "Let Me Show In" version released by Gypsy Eye.  This would be the last time Queen performed Staying Power.  Fantastic show.

QUEEN
Milano - Palazzo Dello Sport
September 15th, 1984

This is from my 1st gen tapes I bought from the taper back in 1984, a few days after the show took place.
I think this is a really good recording (only Bohemian Rapsody is a little bit "ruined").
But, most of all, it seems to me that a complete recording from this night is not so easy to find; in fact I' ve searched several lists and sites of QUEEN
collectors, but almost all of them have the recordings taken from bootlegs that doesn' t have the complete recording
For more details take a look at:
http://www.queenconcerts.com/detail/live/637/15.09.1984+-+Concert:+Queen+in+Sportspalace,+Milan,+Italy
/
but please note that even this great site says that the circulating version of this gig is taken from two different boots and is not complete (no Jailhouse
Rock).
Enjoy and share.

The Olympiahalle must have been packed, as Freddie says before It's A Hard Life, "I think this the biggest audience we've seen in Munich."

Before Is This The World We Created, Brian speaks to the audience in German. He calls them their "Freunde in München" (friends in Munich) and gets a great cheer for it.

Hello there, Queen-lovers!

This is a recording of the famous/infamous concert in Hannover, 22.9.1984, the concert where Freddie Mercury fell and injured his leg during 'Hammer To Fall', and which caused the last portion of the concert to be dramatically shortened. I'm afraid that this isn't a superb audience recording (ranging from G to G+), but it's the best around.

All these concerts are checked with Audiochecker to determine the source of these files (lossy or lossless).
If Audiochecker has some negativ advise, I have checked the concerts also with Tau-analyzer.
If okay with Tau, I see them as lossless source, if not I have added the "(probably lossy source)" words to the file-name.

Very dissapointing to have so less information for you all. Lot's of unknown sources, but better this than nothing :)
I don't have any lineage of every single concert because some are downloaded from the Queenhub.
In the early days of the Queenhub, sadly, it wasn't normal to create txt files with lineage info.
Thanks to the original taper/uploader of this concert where/who ever you are !

The rapidshare version of the torrent will be posted in the next replies in this topic.

Have a good download and keep things lossless which are posted lossless and lossy what is posted lossy here :)

If somebody has better quality versions (or lossless versions from the lossy one which is posted), please think about sharing it here at least I would like it !! ;)
If you have some additional information (about source desciption, tapers info or uploader info, maybe even lineage info), please let me know !!

greetings

This concert was originally scheduled for the 11th but actually played on the 10th so the correct date should be 1984-09-10. Interestingly enough, the early tickets still list the date as the 11th but the later tickets list it as the 10th.

STOP!!!!!

Please don't add anymore years for at least a week because I haven't got enough room on my hard drive (I use a laptop) to even add this one yet!
It also means I won't be doing much seeding!

Thanks bokkepoot.
I think this is the best way to obtain a complete archive of the best sounding versions.
I can see I'm going to have to check them against all my old cassettes (which are now on CD) to determine if any of mine are better quality and then upload any that are....

Thanks a lot for the clarification!

I have another question... the tracklisting of London 4.9.84 is exactly the same as on "Not Fade Away" bootleg... and the sound it seems to be the same too. Can you confirm if it's that? Thanks in advance!

Absolutely... this is from the Not Fade Away (Gypsy Eye) silvers.

So, "silvers (x)" is the best we can do for the lineage.

The are SBEs, but I don't know if they're on the silvers or if it's a bad rip.  My CDR copy has them too.

Sector boundary error... which creates a little click between tracks when it's not ripped or burned to be an exact copy of the original.

So, "silvers (x)" is the best we can do for the lineage.

The are SBEs, but I don't know if they're on the silvers or if it's a bad rip.  My CDR copy has them too.

I'm going to upload that one directly from the silvers within a few days, I have to transfer all that to the computer and then check all that about SBEs. In fact, I thought something coming directly from a CD could not have SBEs... I thought this could only be created after, during the shares, but not if it comes from a CD. I don't remember having seen any of my rips, directly from CDs, having that sort of problem. But I'm not the best as far as technical skills are concerned, maybe I'm wrong !

Any burn or rip can result in SBEs.  As long as a computer is used to do the job, no bootleg label or collector is immune to SBEs unless they use the right software and settings.

Great King Rat seems to be the big problem here. It's broken in Munic 16-09 too,It was not shared in Ginger's torrent nor in Pittrek's "Best of the Best".And the one shared now is incomplete. If anybody has it, please share .

And according to Queenlive.ca. Frankfurt 84 misses Radio Ga Ga. Anyone? Thanx!!!!!!

Is there anyone having the same problem as me???
From Dortmund concert it says Keyboard Solo lasts 3:50 but at 2:13 stops playing
From Vienna 30/9 Machine Intro says it lasts 2:03 but it stops at 1.39!!!

I remember being decompressing the rar files while I was doing some other works in my computer, can it be that???
Please someone respond to this, so I can star downloading the files again
Thanks in advance!!!

Yes, the problem in Keyboard Solo is the same. It seems this concert was downloaded from torrent and Keyboard Solo and Great King Rat were not completed. It's strange that uploader doesn't post any replies in this topic.

Here is your wanted reply.....

Some of the shows are coming from a good friend of mine. These shows are burned on CD-recordables which are in some cases more than 10 years old.
Quality of these CD-recordables are not always good. That's why there are some little songs of 1.5 kb (EAC can't repair them) and I forgot to remove those files.

I'm sharing what I have.
Most of the concerts are okay, some are not.

My wish is that somebody of you all has a good and complete recording of these "damaged" shows.
It's also kind of a "trick" to share what I have, to get a good and complete recording back from somebody else.
As you can read.....it works in some cases.

I will continue soon with 1982 megatorrent.
Maybe there are again some failures, who knows ????

It's ofcourse your good right to place comments on my share's, but I can't garantee that I can solve these problems like missing tracks, damaged files etc. Anyway, it's important to talk about it.

You all will get what I have. If you have it better, more complete or without damaged files, be so gentle to post it here for everybody so everybody can enjoy (including myself).

I hope you can understand my point and situation.

It's not nice to read here: "It's strange that uploader doesn't post any replies in this topic." because I have also a life beside of Queenzone and  the queenhub.

Anyway..... I will continue with 1982 (hopefully in a few hours).

Best regards,

Three years ago, the taper sent off a first gen backup to get transferred and put online, and a song is now missing from what is passed off as some kind of definitive 1984 torrent.  The taper and transferrer did so much work to get this to us in the best quality possible, and we can't even keep all the songs in one place, nor even bother to check it before formally redistributing it?

You did a great job overall with 1985 and 1986, but 1984 is far from complete, as 15 of the 24 recordings in this torrent are not the definitive versions.  Many of those 15 have even been shared here before.  It should be all about quality, not quantity.

1982 will be the last year to share by me (all work is done right now).

Reason.....

Sir GH and others knows better, have better, can things better organize than myself (it seems).
Maybe somebody else can pickup this sharing idea....if not.....bad luck for you.

I'm ready with this "project" which looks like a failure to me :(

Thanx for those people who have placed nice words because I did post a concert which was not in their collection.

I don't want to waste my energy for people like "Sir" GH

I have nothing more to say.

All I'm suggesting is we have an open discussion about each of the recordings, which would hopefully lead to these posts having the best possible versions.  I'm not trying to discourage you from what you're doing, and I certainly didn't say I wouldn't help out with recordings if you asked for them.

Let's have some meaningful dialogue, for everyone's benefit.  This isn't some kind of personal attack, and I'm sorry if you took it that way.

I think you are right about it.
I take my reaction in my last post complete back and apologise for my not so nice, overreacted words.
I keep the post unedited so people can understand your last reply.

Anyway I stop posting previous years than 1982 because I don't have the energy to find everything out to post the exact best copy which is around in Queenworld.

You did before very good work for the Queenworld Sir GH, I forgot it for a little moment in my reaction before.
I'm sorry for this.

Nobody does... this is why most of us share shows individually. :-)

Feel free to contact me about any concert, and I'll help out in any way I can.

Either way, I definitely encourage you to keep going, and I'm sure plenty of other people do too.  Just to lighten your work load, maybe you can focus on shows that haven't been shared here before.  It should be much easier to reseed old torrents than to create new ones.

Keep up the good work, really !!

I share Bob's opinions but I go further, as I think every version must be shared (even if not especially by the same person !). I mean, every tape has its own life, its own story, its own interest. Every taper has the right to think, "well, maybe my version was not the best, but my work and the risks I took are now rewarded, my version is here with quality preserved, and everybody can enjoy it". After all, every version is different.
The thing is we have to know what we download, and what is the interest in it, before uploading, and we have of course to keep the information for passing that along... hence the interest of a discussion.
After that, the multi-sourced versions are there to create the ultimate version of a show, picking up all that is needed in every recording that can be used.

I have always dreamt about a global index here on Queenzone, with all the versions listed (and shared !) and a link to find it easily for everyone and every newbie. That would be the ultimate way of managing a forum isn't it ? It seems like essential in fact (at least it's my opinion !). I was thinking about creating one of those indexes for Queen (after dealing with Roger and The Cross), as Queenzone team never did (if I'm right). In fact, I promised to keep quiet on Queenzone some months ago, but the devil is inside me, and I wanted to help with an index so after "Queen + Paul Rodgers 2005/2006" and "Queen + Paul Rodgers 2008", I started one about Brian May as a solo artist (which I am not the only one to find very interesting). But as far as the Queen concerts are concerned, you came first and shared everything year by year !! So...

So, maybe it's not the definitive versions, at least you share all you can ,which is just fabulous. After that, I think, once everything is online, we could gather and take each show one after the other and say "well, we know 3 different versions of that show (thanks Martin and Bob for your websites ! Too much is thanks is not enough), and here they are, and this one is better than this one for that, but this other one is really enjoyable too because of some more minutes being recorded or this and that", share directly from the silvers when possible (I'll do my best to help on that matter if needed), and share the closest from the masters able. This could be used after a while to create a general index, and to definitely clear everyone's collection, and definitely replace low quality with high quality. And I'm sure everybody would be happy to be able to do so. Just look outside the Queen community for other bands' communities, we are far from perfect, and not that well organized... If we can succeed in that, if we all show some good soul and help the little we can here and there, with a positive attitude, I am sure Queenzone's team will be interested in creating that general definitive index, that would only need to be updated when a new source or a better version is discovered. If Richard doesn't take the time to do it, I would do, at the only condition that Queenzone or someone else accepts to maintain it if needed after that.

My guess is almost everyone is REALLY busy downloading now, and will until the first years are shared. I undestand you became irritated because of the really hard work done (my god, so many shows, in torrent and rapidshare, go have some needed sleep now !! ;o) ). But please know that your work here is really interesting, very important in fact, and a good starting point. Starting from there, we can say that most of the Queen shows will be found on Queenzone in 2009, with fresh links and torrents that will probably be seeded a long time (I really hope so !).
I would feel like a politician saying "2009 will be the year of the change, if we all show some solidarity and brotherhood and help on this project for the benefit of the whole community. Yes, we can !".  But the idea is there ! Vote bokkepoot for President !!

With so many missing parts from 15 shows here, I found it easier to just delete the whole ruddy folder.
I haven't got time to follow these threads after every post and replace individual tracks as and when complete verisons appear.
If there is a known problem with a concert rip, DON'T post it! All that happens is in 5 years time I end up sharing a damaged concert because I don't know any better and end up dirtying the pool....
What's needed is someone who DOES have the time to go through everything and post the definitive version of a concert. From then on, unless there's a quality upgrade, that concert doesn't need to appear ever again!

Bokkepoot must have been having an off week with this one!
