Don't know if this was shared here before. And I know the show is more complete availble. But here is copy of the direct transfer from the INVITE YOU TO A NIGHT AT THE BUDOKAN lp (Marc TQ-76059).

why this share ?

Well simply because all other versions which aren't from this LP but from rereleases from this specific L.P. are all in inferiour sound.

This was the first boot which was released with this show. It is a highly collectable Lp bootleg. And all the rereleases like :
-Mercury poisoning (lp)
- The Ballte of 76 (lp)
- Year of the opera (cd)

Feature a less good soundquality.

So for the fan who wants it all.

The Japanese bootleg label MARC made 4 Queen boot lp's which are all very rare. And of course expensive.

These are the vinyls :
MARQ-TQ 75122 KIMONO MY PLACE LIVE 1 lp. (tokyo may 1st. 1975)
MARQ-TQ 76059 INVITE YOU TO A NIGHT AT TEH BUDO KAN (see this topic)
MARQ -TQ 76042 LAZING ON A SUNDAY EVENING 1lp (tokyo april 4h. 1976)
ZAP 7960 FREE IN THE PARk 1lp (hyde park sept. 18th. 1976) *

* ZAP which stands for "ZE ANONYM PLATENSPIELER (the anonymous record player, it is in german) was a american bootleg label. Which had nothing to do with MARC. The MARC label made many boots in the 70's for many bands. And the MARC label stood for high quality bootlegs (soundwise) among record collectors. Because the HYDE PARK show was recorded in such a bad quality MARC decided to annoy ZAP (their compettitor) by releasing a inferiour qualtiy bootleg on the ZAP label instead of their own label.

Linaege :

- INVITE YOU TO A NIGHT AT THE BUDO KAN 1 lp MARC label (MARC-TQ 76059 matrixnr.) - to stand alone cdr recorder pioneer pcdr01 - cdr (1) to FLAC level 8

The show is :
Tokyo, Japan, Nippon Budokan march 31dt. 1976

LP SIDE A :
Intro: Bohemian Rhapsody  (mid ~ end section)
 Flick Of The Wrist
 Hangman
 Brighton Rock
 Son And Daughter  (end part)
 Seven Seas Of Rhye

LP SIDE B
Father To Son
 Doing Alright
 lazing On A Sunday Afternoon
 Keep Yourself Alive
 Now I'm Here
See What A Fool I've Been
 God Save The Queen

PS I included pictures form the BEFORE THE MOTT ACETATE , to prove it is a acetate. Reall fans should have know that the HEAVY WIEGHT label is japanse pure 100% acetate Queen bootleg acetate label from the 70's.

EDIT (13 november 2010) renamed the subject added the april 1st. date, so there has to be no more confussion about the date(s) thanks to little foetus!!

The performance of Seven Seas of Rhye here is very good.  Sounds very close to the studio version.

Can some expert verify the date. I mentioned -03-31-76 but when I look at queenlive.ca the sources are divided together with the
april 1st.76 show. There is no info on the LP sleeve...

I am asking this because it would be strange to feature 2 rotating songs in the setlist. : Father to son & seven seas of rhye were played sometimes. But never seen them in 1 setlist...

So which date is it ?

It's mostly April 1.  But this bootleg has a couple more tracks than Year Of The Opera than the others, so when I get a chance I'll compare everything.  Stay tuned!

I made comparisons with my recordings and most if it comes from the April 1st.

LP SIDE A :
Intro: Bohemian Rhapsody  (mid ~ end section) April 1st
Flick Of The Wrist April 1st
 Hangman April 1st
 Brighton Rock April 1st
Son And Daughter  (end part) April 1st
Seven Seas Of Rhye March 31st
LP SIDE B
Father To Son April 1st
 Doing Alright March 31st
lazing On A Sunday Afternoon March 31st
 Keep Yourself Alive April 1st
 Now I'm Here April 1st
See What A Fool I've Been April 1st
God Save The Queen April 1st

It seems See What A Fool I've Been is cut on other bootleg lps (according to Queenlive.ca) but it does not seem to be cut here (great performance by the way). Nice sound! Thank you!

"thanks little foetu"s. Damn 2 shows which about the same in great quality.... Well I can only dream that a label like TARATURA gains access to these mother tapes. Would be a very nice 4 cd set. The japanese 76 shows are very hot! My personal favourite was always the afternoon show from osaka. But this year a few more jewels from the japan 76 leg emerged.Like the fukuoka and Himejii now again  , all in excellent quality.  Hope there is more to come!

Notice : lets be thankfull for Queen touring japan, and let´s thank japan for embracing Queen. The japanse must have been further with their technologies and must have had better gear... And maybe they were more expiernced recording concerts...

My point is , when Queen didn´t tour japan at all, we would ony have a hand full of mediocore recordings, which quality suck big time comparred to the japanese....

Cool, thanks for clarifying, little foetus.  Indeed you've got the dates right.  In this quality, this is one of the very best Queen bootlegs from the 70s.  The performances of Hangman, Father To Son, and See What A Fool I've Been are top notch.  If only the uncut tapes would come out, or if Mr. Peach taped the April 1 show..

Not it is not Dutch , I am dutch. But I grew up learning Dutch and German....

But it is German with some "american"writing accent...Otherwise ZE would have to be DER

Well, it's close to German ... in German the sentence would look like that:
"Der anonyme Plattenspieler"

Thank you so much. Been looking for this. I remember when I bought my first HotWacks book in 1976 or 77 and salivated over those mysterious releases that were mostly completely out of reach for me. Now, I can pick the cream of the crop. Only took 33 years...
