No the taper ran out of tape during Jailhouse Rock, so this is incomplete. There is another recording of this show that's inferior to this one. I believe someone here is working on adding the ending to the show using that source.
If or when that happens I will post it here.
For now, I suggest you do not delete these files
if that version becomes available in it's entirety.

The version that is torrented here is an alternate master for this show. Queenconcerts doesn't list this source at all. The version that is described on QC uses an (almost) complete, but inferior recording for most of the show. A few cuts are patched with yet another source.

When I edited this recording for release I intentionally did not fade out the end of Jailhouse Rock to allow a seamless patch from the other source.

Thank you for your answers... very kind from you two.

I want to keep this "Sheer FLAC Attack", but my problem is that i don't have a big broadband... but at least i'll post some of my own bootlegs in The Hub tomorrow saturday, and maybe someone can torrent them here.

And I'm so glad you did!

Here, I've added the remainder of the show from the inferior source. Here it is in FLAC:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/czj4up

Note that I've corrected the pitch to be a half-semitone higher.

So, just raise the pitch of the original FLAC version a half-semitone, and paste this in at the end of Break Free, and you'll have the best recording possible.

Unfortunately it is not that simple. If you only adjust the pitch of a show, that doesn't run at the correct speed, the result is going to be horrible, because all you did was changing the pitch without affecting the speed of the recording, which is of course still off. What you want to do is to correct both the speed and the pitch of the recording simultaneously. For example in Cool Edit Pro there are options to adjust pitch or speed only and there's the option to adjust both at the same time (called "resampling" in CEP).

And once you've changed the speed of the recording, you end up with sector boundary errors between each track of the show, which means that it will not play back seamlessly (i.e. without clicks between tracks) when burned to an audio disc. Therefore whenever you change the lenght of wav files, you always need to fix the resulting sector boundary errors prior to burning.

My pitch correction also includes speed correction, so that's not a problem. My apologies for not specifying!

The rest of the problem can be avoided if you make Break Free to the end of the show as one wave file, insert queue points in GoldWave or something, and then break it into separate tracks in Nero. It should be okay that way.

I just gave this a listen when introduced right after the original FLAC files, and I found there is a time overlap betwen the original break free track and the track you created.

Is there a simple way I can edit this out to have the two tracks play without any repeats or breaks?

I know I can overlap the beguining and end of the files when recording audio CD's with Nero. But I would like to do ot to the FLAC files instead.

thanks.

PS: despite the quite obvious source change it is nice to have this complete.

MDNA wrote:

I purposely made it this way, so there would be plenty of space to make the cut. Convert Break Free from the original copy and my file to WAV (easiest way would be with WinAmp, by selecting the "disk writer" plugin). Open them up in a wave editor like GoldWave or Cool Edit. If you don't have either program, then I'd go for GoldWave since it's a small program. Just paste the two files together, zoom in on the right spot, and make the cut (but make sure you have "snap to zero-crossing" checked on from the edit menu). Just be sure to listen carefully in headphones to make sure the edit is perfectly seamless.

Yes, but the link is dead now and the recording was not as good anyway.

===============================

Indeed, I'll second that.  That source wasn't overly bad, but certainly not nearly as good as Kurgan's third source.
