Does the book say anything about Paul Rodgers?

John hated HS. Fred's fave singer was not PR. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' Witness testimonies are often inaccurate. Scotland's not in England. 'Bo Rhap' hasn't got 180 voices.

Not that I know, but it does say that Freddie wrote all the solo's of his songs. ;)

I think a more appropriate title would have been

"Garden Lodge and Me"

By "his" do you mean Freddie's, or Paul's?

> Isn't Jim Hutton liek 60? Doesn't he know proper grammar by this age? Mercury and I?

The concept of "proper" grammar is always controversial. What about Lennon's "she don't care" in 'Ticket To Ride' or Mercury's "you and me" in 'Bijou'? Prescriptively they might be "wrong", descriptively they're just variants. Shakespeare used both "between you and me" and "between you and I".

> No, nothing about PR he wrote the book in 1994.

Paul was already 44 at the time ... plus since he was "Freddie's favourite singer" it's odd that Jim never mentioned Mercury having expressed his admiration for Mr Rodgers. Unless of course Roger and Brian are merely putting words on a dead man's mouth ... but they wouldn't do that - they're perfect!

> Its British grammer.

Not quite...

Just finished this a week or so ago. My first thought, after the first few chapters, was, Crikes, what an ego(Hutton's)!

I did come to enjoy the book, however, and, realized that there was much more to Jim Hutton and his relationship with Mr Mercury. I do sort of get the same feeling whomever posted, "Garden Lodge and Me," was expressing, however, I also feel that Mr Hutton may not be the best...communicator. I also determined(from the book, of course. I don't know Mr Hutton) that Mr Hutton is a very simple man, and, can see where Freddie may have found that attractive.

The good part about the book was that the contrast between Freddie's public persona, and, his private persona, was tremendous, which made it interesting, to me.
Now, I await Phoebe's book, on it's way from the UK! It took a good eight weeks for Hutton's to reach me, so, I expect Phoebe's will take about the same amount of time.

I actually don't recall him mentioning the other Queen members often, at all, other than the Fried Chicken thing. I expected him to talk a bit more about that part of Freddie's life.

I didn't know Phoebe had written a book as well. You'll have to keep me updated on it. What is it called?

Freddie Mercury was a private man, and so none of these books would have come out had he lived. Very little was known about Freddie's private life until he died, until his friends backstabbed him when they saw dollar signs in their eyes.
