From reading these forums there seems to be alot of ho ha over fake demos etc.

I've read claim and counter claim of various tracks being faked or not.

Is there anyway, or anyone, who can authenticate tracks? Maybe someone with an extensive collection who can verify what is real?

It would mae things alot easier, and stop all the arguments

Misfire demo: fake, studio version taken from either the left or right speaker.

put out the fire demo: live version without audience (I think)

a new life is born demo (2): this one is a fan mix (with the added drums)

must be more.

Because I bought another track, called Face It Alone. This track cost me a lot of money and sounds nothing like this other track. I do not claim that the currently shared demo is not a Queen demo, I merely claim that it is not Face it Alone.

If it is, well, then I have been ripped off.

Mate. Seriously, the convention track shared here as "FIA" is, for all intents and purposes "FIA".
Now that doesn't mean to say that you didn't buy another Queen track that's rare - it's simply not "FIA".

I know how many people on here feel about Greg Brooks, but that IS what he called it at the convention back in 2001 (I think it was) where the track was first played. Bear in mind that Greg doesn't compile the discs he brings - they are done by Justin Shirley Smith who I gather sits in with Greg while he listens to the master tapes.

Would you mind uploading a clip of your track - 64kb mono MP3 would do!

Coppens probably got ripped off. I hate saying it, but really - it's dodgy enough that someone would charge money for a rare demo. They'd have to be REALLY inept if they couldn't even get the name of the song right....

I mean that, vs. a convention recording where the name of the song was made quite clear....

Sorry - I think you've been duped :/
