We are the champions, don't stop me now, save me, spread your wings, now I'm here, '39,bohemain rhapsody and liar stand out for me as freddie's best live performances.

Would love to hear more of the Crazy Tour. All the shows we have are amazing. I really wonder why there are so few recordings from this tour.

The shows were all played in small theatres. Maybe that has something to do with it. If only 2000(or less) people attended a show, one of these 2000 people had to make a recording(maybe security was better too). When they played a show for 12000 people,....

My little theory:-)

A good theory... but then there are so few recordings from the US Game tour... their longest, best-selling tour...

Good point! That was indeed a long tour with lots of big shows (madison square garden , LA forum,...).... and few recordings. you have succesfully destroyed my theory:-)

Another point to consider:

In the 70s and 80s the Japanese were absolute tech freaks. My guess is, that much more fans had the proper equipment – and knowledge – to record a concert in decent quality than the average American or British fan.

Maybe that's why so much Japanese shows in very good quality exist from that time and so few US and European ones.

Towards the mid-80s, Walkmen and the likes were the standard in Europe, and USA, too.

And just my guess: Japanese people generally love to document their experiences (you all know the cliche of the camera-equipped Japanese tourists), while the typical British fan just wants a great party and a good drink ... ;-)

What I want to know is, how many British audience recordings never saw the light of day because the whole thing was ruined by hammered fans tunelessly singing along :P

Happy conference to you,

Happy conference to you,

Happy conference dear punters....

er....and we hope you have stew!

You're right, but did you ever listen to the "could-have-been-fantastic" Frankfurt 1980 show? And what about the screaming Japanese girls?
