From the Wikipedia page on Queen II:

"In 1977, Queen's First E.P. was released, featuring a version of "White Queen" which is a stand-alone version, eliminating the segue (from "Father To Son") which appears on the album."

Is this true? I was always led to believe that it was merely the album version included on the EP. Can anyone who owns the record clear this up?

Actually, I didn't. I was reading the article, because a friend of mine (who's only just started listening to Queen, but who's a long-time classic rock fan) asked me whether the page was correct on a couple of points.

Is that the Pete Townshend defense??

From QueenVault.com

White Queen (As It Began) (Single Version) 4:35
Written by Brian May
Appears on: UK Queen's First EP 7" vinyl, Japan Queen's First EP 3" CD single, UK Queen's First EP 3" CD single
A standalone version of the song that doesn't include the minor segue from Father To Son.

I have an mp3 of the CD version and I'm almost sure that I can hear a bit of "Father To Son" in the background during the intro. But if it's there it's barely audible and not at all intrusive.

V.

I'm as mad as HELL, and I'm not going to take this anymore!

I didn't know there were indecent pictures of minors involved? I must not have looked at the page very carefully, then, right?

White Queen is certainly the best track on that EP closely followed by Death on Two Legs and Tenement Funster........it is a shame that Good Old Fashioned Loverboy always gets all the credit i.e. inclusion on greatest hits packages etc....fact is that goflb hardly got any airplay and now is never played i.e. why call it a hit?....at least the others may get played in classic rock formats

I think this EP is great!

I think they are among the best Queen songs. Tenement Funster should/could have been replaced with My Fairy King though...

But I have never found it in any second hand store, but I still wait for the day :)
