I was pretty suprised he passed away, never thought it could happen. I didn't listen to much of his work back then, but my mom has a Pavarotti and friends tape which was great to listen to,and I saw the clip of him and Brian singing too much love will kill you which was great.

When I find that tape,i'll play it honor of him.
Here's to you Mr.Pavarotti!

He was the man who, in many ways, brought opera to the mainstream. A true legend.

But opera has to be the snobbiest genre of music. It is the only genre where I've ever heard of a singer (legendary, at that) being booed off the stage after his voice cracked.

He was a great talent and a wonderful personality(with lots of charisma). My parents saw him twice and it was a fantastic experience. They were VIP's at his concert and so my parents had dinner the table next to pavarotti:-)

RIP

I added my little tribute on my site, along with a little info on when Pavarotti visited my little home town just north of Chicago.

Also, I've uploaded Too Much Love Will Kill you sung my Brian May and Pavarotti, in his honor.

I'm sorry, that is bollocks. Pavarotti had a very powerfull voice... and a very good one. They had diametrally different styles. Freddie couldn't sing any of Pavarotti's more famous recordings and Luciano couldn't sing rock or prance around a stage like Freddie.

You can't just go around comparing everyone to Freddie and not giving them credit. If you do so, please start with your own band's singer. And compare Brian's guitar skills and Freddie's piano playing with your band while you are at it.

You Fucking arsehole, How about a bit of respect you jump up Prick!!!

Many of us are extremely saddened by the news and wish his family well and offer our respect and sympathy....then you come along and, well your not fit to be called human.

You should have been banned from here a long time ago but that was pushing it. Nobody likes you or your band or wants you here so why dont you just find some other place to Piss off to and leave us alone. no one cares how "great" your band are.

my apologies to anyone else here.

R.I.P, you are greatly missed.

im not being a pussy, your being a C**t!

he did as much for classical music as fred did for rock music.

71 is no age these days anyway. my neighbour is in a senior footie team and he is 75. I know we all die, but it doesnt stop it being sad, what is sad is your blatant disregard for repect and feelings.

just FUCK OFF!!11

NO!!!! You cant compare as in Apples and oranges,

you cant compare roger taylor to brian may when it comes to queen because one plays drums and the latter guitar.

and maybe in your opinion freddie was the best songwriter that ever lived, but in my opinion Brian was by far the most consitent of all the band members and my favourite songs slots are taken up mostly by his, but then i am a fan of his style.

if you are not a fan of Luciano's style then dont even bother posting in this thread, there was no need for it.

lets drop this here and carry on with what this thread started as, a place to pay respect.

What an amazing voice. Such perfection. His passing will leave such a hole in the world of classical music.
