A QMS post from Nan Lawniczak regarding the former SW USA/Texas Queen Fan Club president...(Keep Yourself Alive I think was the name). Anyway, a good egg who we know from many a convention....most likely, more than a few here have met him.
"Normally, I love breaking news, but not this time. Many of you in North
America know Danny from the Dallas, Texas, area. He's a regular at the
conventions, etc. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment for
Leukemia, and will be in the hospital at least 2 more weeks. He will
eventually need a bone marrow transplant. He's in good spirits and is
responding well, but would love to hear from his friends and fellow fans! The
address for cards (please no plants or flowers) is:
Danny Williams C/O
Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas
3500 Gaston Ave
Roberts Bldg, Rm 621
Dallas TX 75246
If you would like more information on the international bone marrow donor
program, please go to www.marrow.org
You can even register online and get a swab kit for testing! And registering
does not mean you are then obligated if you match someone. But what a
wonderful thing it would be if more than one Queen fan saved somebody's life!!
(Who knows, maybe we even have a "Queen fan gene" that we can spread to others
- lol!) And if you can't donate bone marrow, you can still make a monetary
contribution to the organization."
