I just found this:

http://cgi.ebay.es/promo-CD-QUEEN-1997-2007-we-will-rock-you-Champions_W0QQitemZ120174525594QQihZ002QQcategoryZ60751QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD2VQQcmdZViewItem

I have not read about this, do you think this is an EMI/Parlophone release?

So? Where's the mention of a 30th anniversary(promo) cd single on that page? There is only a link to iTunes.

Although the QOL link is a little tangential, it does suggest that there is SOME movement on this track, so it could well be a genuine promo - but why not ask the seller for a pic of the actual disc?

It's a reasonable request...

YES, there is indeed a promotional only CD of these two anthems to celebrate the 30th Anniversary. It's on the Parlophone label cat number ROCKYOU001. The back of the card sleeve is red with the b/w NOTW inner sleeve band photo in the centre and titles underneath. The disc has the robot on too, and is a really nice release.

Thank you for that info! Is it possible that you post a scan of the back and the disc?

Am I missing something here?

Wasn't the original single (the one released 30 years ago, which this is supposed to be commemorating) We Are The Champions, with We Will Rock you as a B-side?

Is this a deliberate attempt of Brian's to inflate his own position at the expense of others, or a genuine slip-up to preserve the running order of the album which has supposedly become such a classic? :/

Honestly, I would have expected a single re-release the preserve the running order of the original single, just like the 3" single did 20 years ago. Am I alone in thinking that?

The less paranoiac in me goes for the latter. I just can't imagine Brian wringing his hands thinking, "Ah ha, now's my chance!" He's had other things to worry about besides the tracklist of a promotional CD. I just think the world has become so accustomed to hearing WWRY followed by WATC that EMI decided to put the single out like that.

Of course, this release still makes more sense than the live edit download of Keep Yourself Alive...

I don't think it would be a case of him thinking "here's my chance" now that he's kept pushing WWRY at every possible instance. ;)
I'm beginning to think that in Brian's opinion WWRY is the peak of their career, and that's why he's pushing for it. :/

Anything would make more sense than the KYA download single, but even this 30th anniversary release is being ruined by the cd being a promo only. They really have forgotten all about physical single releases, have they?

I just don´t understand something. What are they promoting with this cd?

If this is a promo, it means that they´re gonna guive it for free for radio stations to play it?

I really don´t understand this concept of promo anymore:/

Someone could share some light on this?

Take care
