I've recently spotted some interestingly looking Queen items in my local CD store - those are all second hand, btw:

1) I'm Going Slightly Mad single - contains a song "Lost Opportunity".
2) The Game and Queen II in an envelop instead of a conventional CD album. It looks pretty shiny, and it looks like a Japanese release. The back doesn't feature track listings or anything, only the Queen logo. It looks pretty damn cool.

Can anyone tell me about that Lost Opportunity song, and also about the enveloped CDs? How rare are those items, and is it worth getting them? Thanks a lot for your help.

Lost Opportunity was the B-Side to the I'm Going Slightly Mad single. It's a legitimate song if that's what you were wondering.

I would advise that you buy them.

Lost Oppertunity - outtake from Innuendo sessions. A slow, bluesy Brian song.
Single is not rare at all.

*meep - Nathan beat me ;-)*

The envelopes don't ring a bell...
I'm interested to know what they look like and what they are! Do you have any more details? What's written on the disc itsself? ...

Obviously not, as he says there is nothing on the sleeve, no titles on the back, just the crest!
So it must be something else...

Really?
So how come my vinyl version (admittedly a Fame re-issue) only contains a small two inch crest on the opposite side of the spine, and has the tracklisting only on the inside? :/

You're right about QII not having the titles on the back (on the Jap mini vinyl replica) and just the crest - but what about The Game then?

From this post one recons that both discs come in the same sort of envelope and neither of them has titles, only the crest...

I think the explanation is about Q2 album only, and the wording is just unclear. That's far more likely than this being any special, unheard of release.

My apologies, my wording was unclear. There were two seperate CDs, one of Queen II (no titles, small crest at centre bottom) and one of The Game (did have track listings). I recall Japanese writing on the The Game CD, but I'm not so sure about the Queen II one. I'll go have another look sometime later and report back.

I have Queen II, a Japansese 25-years CD-edition of the record. Just a small crest on the back, no tracklist.

All clear: official Japanese mini vinyl-replica series. Still loads of them in shops everywhere - so much they sell them for 5 euro's at Media Markt.
No rarities and they never will be.
