I am astounded at the sound quality of the QRM release. As I was driving home I was wondering what it would sound like if "Live Killers" was remixed and remastered in the same sense. I know Roger has publicly expressed his disappointment in the sound quality so maybe he can convince Brian to re-release it. Although there may be no DVD to go along with it, it would be worth it to have the CD. That is, of course, if Brian would realize they had better 70s performances in general.

According to most Queen fans another 're-release' might start an uproar of dissapointment. However, in my honest opinion, if Queen were to do something like that in 2009 in order to celebrate the album's 30th anniversary I see nothing wrong with it. In fact, I would look forward to it!

I'd rather see a complete show released.

I had an old video of the Paris show that was excellent. If they have a clean version of that I'd be happy to buy the CD.

Yes, then they can re-release Live At Wembley and Live Magic to give them the same punchy sound like on QOFATB and QRM. Great idea!

Didn't they just re-release that a couple of years ago?

Might be nice to eventually hear a complete show from that era properly released, but this album of pasted-together crap would be pointless... er, hmm, yeah they'll probably do this.

;)

And Brian would probably explain it something like this:

"It's always been a thorn in our side to be honest. This album was originally thrown together rather quickly to make something available because so many bootlegs were emerging. I believe Roger has even publically disowned this album! While it was impossible to find and reproduce every little section used originally, our boys have done a painstakingly fantastic job of assembling a much better version, and this is how we would have intended the album to sound, had we been able to take the time back in those glory days.

Even more exciting is this new modernized mix, which takes full advantage of current technology, mixed from the original multitrack master tapes at the highest possible rate and, on the advice of our resident sound guru Justin Shirley Smith, finally presented in 1.0 glorious monophonic sound. Justin has really opened our eyes (and ears) in regards to multi-channel mixes and proven that it's not always necessary to use all channels to acheive the best possible sound. I've just previewed these new mixes and I must say, this is by far the finest sounding Queen live album ever produced!"

A few years back, for the Japanese re-releases, I made a comment on a mailing list regarding a lack of interest in purchasing yet another Queen item without bonus material from that era.

Add 'Fat Bottomed Girls', 'It's Late', 'If You Can't Beat Them', and 'Somebody To Love'. After all, each disk only contains approximately 45 minutes. That would have given us a reason to purchase it.

This must have been a repeated question, as I received a reply from Brian's webmistress, stating that it was out of his control and EMI's decision alone?!!?!?

Yet, Hollywood Records rereleases Wembley with added versions from different concerts around that same time. Very odd.

Guess we'll have to wait five years for the Live Killers rerererelease in the mono format and the new cover mentioned above;-)

Actually this could be a problem with a remix, because they may have done the edits of the shows AFTER mixing...so they would have to actually go back and figure out what parts of what shows they used in order to get back to the multitracks to do a remix, and then re-edit everything exactly like they did before. This could be a very daunting task. I'd love to hear a remix of that album, because many of us know and love it so well, but I think to Queen it was just kind of a mess to begin with so I doubt they'd go to the trouble. I don't think it's a "classic" album to them like it is to many of us. It would be easier for them to release a different live album.
