I personally have always thought that the line up was a bit wrong Quality wise. Some of the Performances, eg. George Michael and Seal for instance were good but there were some really poor performances. Lisa Stansfield didnt seem to give a shit about the event and Axl rose showed off how he couldnt actually sing.
I have allways thought they should have got Steve Perry in to sing a few. Definetly Save me. That would have been amazing! Shame Journey arent so big in the UK or that would have been a possibility. Especially as Steve wasnt in Journey at that point and would have been a great guy to have done the one off, Queen + shows. Brian even says he is on eof Rocks best vocalists. What are your views? Who would you have liked to have seen.

I didn't think the lineup was terrible, but it would have been nice to see Montserrat Caballe' and maybe even Michael Jackson perform.

Yes, roll out Montserrat right after Metallica. That would have been great! I'm thinking she could sing one of the hits off of Jazz. You know the one!

I think the lineup was fine. If it were me in charge of promotion, I would have hired more US acts, primarily to gain their audience and, in turn, sell more Queen albums in the states. I'm sure Hollywood records would have been just fine with that.

I don't think the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert was about selling Queen records.

McCartney would have been cool. I can hear him doing You're My Best Friend, Biclycle Race, or even Killer Queen.

Am not a big fan of his but I think Cliff Richard would've been interesting - I would've given him Radio GaGa...
Mick Jagger; Now I'm Here
Prince; AOBTD
Monserrat Caballe; Lap of the Gods
Tom Jones; Crazy LTCL

Wow, Prince on Another One Bites The Dust....
And Tom Jones on Crazy Little Thing Called Love... arf !
Why not... they were established artists at that time.
Quite OK with Cliff Richard, and other artists the likes of Rod Stewart, Mick Jagger and McCartney, they could very well have been present there, don't know if they were really good friends (especially Paul McCartney) but they were the kind of guys who should have not missed the occasion of helping this caricative moment.
Of course Montserrat Caballe, duetting with Metallica (what a bunch of rehearsal they would have needed, but what an effect it would have been !! and recalling Freddie's work of course).
Robbie Williams was only 18, so maybe her mother would not have allowed him to go out and come back home after 7 pm (especially with the other bad boys from Take That).

Well, what about a Mika at the beeb singing We Will Rock You with a Kid Will Rock You style... could be worthwile...

Olivier,
France.

And maybe Joe Cocker with a terrible striptease song with some Spice Girls impersonators (see the lesbians announced just before by Penetration-Guru and it can make something...)
