I´m not asking to own these videos (just asking about their existance), as I know these are ultra-rare (or don´t even exist??)

1- Is there really any video from Fort Worth 10.12.1977 (the day before Houston)... did anyone really see it?

2- Is there a good version of Hyde Park, better than the QTV broadcast version?

3- Is there full video footage of the Rainbow show from March 1974?

4- Is there any kind of audio or video recording of the Marquee 1972 concert?

5- Is the Rainbow November Show released on video the full show? Are there songs missing?

6- Was the end of the Hammersmith 1975 Christmas concert filmed (after the Rock´n´Roll Medley), even if in terrible quality?

7- Is there any video from the Preston 1973 concert?

8- Is there really a Kalamazoo 77 audio recording? The same thing for Syracuse 77?

9- Is there any audio/video from the December 22, 1977 concert at Inglewood?

Thanks in advance.

Here is what I believe to be the situation:

1- Don't know, but I've never seen any of it

2- There will undoubtedly be a lower gen, as the QTV tape is at least third gen (probably much higher)

3- Unlikely

4- None has ever surfaced

5- No & Yes

6- No, the cameras stopped recording when the transmission ended.

7- It is extremely unlikely.

8- I couldn't say

9- Probably not

Presumably you've been to www.queenconcerts.com to check this stuff

Well, I often visit several websites about Queen Concerts and Bootlegs. And I also read old topics of this forum... These doubts haven´t been solved by reading all that. That´s why I ask here, maybe some trader or someone close to the Queen Archives could answer ;-)

Thanks for your answers.

Perhaps, in the Queen vaults, provided that it has aged well. They probably have preserved the audio, at least.

4- Is there any kind of audio or video recording of the Marquee 1972 concert?

Queen definitely has the audio in their vaults.

6- Was the end of the Hammersmith 1975 Christmas concert filmed (after the Rock´n´Roll Medley), even if in terrible quality?

It is rumoured that a single camera filmed the last two songs.

7- Is there any video from the Preston 1973 concert?

The footage in question is from the "Killer Queen" documentary. Someone said it was from Preston, but I don't know who started that, or who confirmed it's true. It's just a few seconds of silent footage, either from 1973 or early 1974. I've got some screenshots on my website.

8- Is there really a Kalamazoo 77 audio recording? The same thing for Syracuse 77?

They both exist, but they'll never come out. Both are in the hands of people who said they recorded the shows for themselves, and have no interest in spreading them for any reason, or for any dollar value.

9- Is there any audio/video from the December 22, 1977 concert at Inglewood?

Probably not video, but audio is out there somewhere.

Hope I've been able to help... even though most of it really isn't good news, for us!

I really doubt it exists, maybe "something" was recorded (a test for the next day, like Wembley 86), but that's only a theory

2- Is there a good version of Hyde Park, better than the QTV broadcast version?

Yes, of course, in the Queen vaults.

3- Is there full video footage of the Rainbow show from March 1974?

Last year Queen didn't have it, this year GB wrote here that they have it, but not if it's complete.

4- Is there any kind of audio or video recording of the Marquee 1972 concert?

The audio WAS sold to Queen Productions, but Greg claims it's not in the archives.

5- Is the Rainbow November Show released on video the full show? Are there songs missing?

Of course it's not complete. Also the songs are heavily edited, they're in incorrect order, they're overdubbed, etc...

6- Was the end of the Hammersmith 1975 Christmas concert filmed (after the Rock´n´Roll Medley), even if in terrible quality?

Mr. Scully (queenconcerts.com) is the author of this myth, now he says that he thought he has the last two songs, but when he searched for it in his archive, he didn't find it. Again, think about it what you want.

7- Is there any video from the Preston 1973 concert?

There are a couple of seconds of footage, which many believe comes from the Preston show.

8- Is there really a Kalamazoo 77 audio recording? The same thing for Syracuse 77?

I don't have a slightiest idea.

9- Is there any audio/video from the December 22, 1977 concert at Inglewood?

The audio AFAIK exists.

Most of them have already been answered but I wanted to post my thougths as well.

1. It wasn't that common in those days to do a test shoot the day before the real concert so I highly doubt it.

2. Definitely, some of it was used on the recent Night at the Opera DVD. The quality is really good. Probably the master tape.

3. From what I've heard, the show wasn't filmed.

4. Yes. Queen Productions owns a tape from that night but no one knows the quality of the rrecording. The track list is as follows:

01. Great King Rat
02. Son & Daughter
03. Jesus
04. Doing All Right
05. Ogre Battle
06. Keep Yourself Alive
07. Liar
08. Jailhouse Rock
09. Bama Lama Bama Lou

5. I doubt it. Seeing as the video was heavily edited they could have easily cut some parts to reduce the running time to an hour.

6. This is very debatable but in those days it was common to have a third or even fourth backup camera that would usually record the show from only one angle should any of the other camera's fail. So yes there is a chance it was filmed.

7. Never heard anything about that one. It seems very unlikely.

8. Some people claim to have those, but since none of these people have ever shown any proof of their existance it remains unknown.

9. Again, unknown.

Really nothing special about the show, besides the sound which was really great.

Sorry about the HamOdeon myth ;-) I'd swear I used to have a bad quality b&w tape with those two songs but I must be wrong since (1.) I couldn't find the tape and (2.) Jim Jenkins (who was at the video shoot) said BBC packed all their cameras before the second encore.

1. the Fort Worth video recording (pre Houston )was reported by the official fan club magazine in 1978 - although no evidence that it really happened / and survived.

"Atlanta 8th December. Bob Harris, the compere of Englands major rock TV programme, arrived with the film crew to do some filming for the forthcoming documentary about the band. They began filming at Fort Worth and Houston, after which the film crew returned home and Bob Harris stayed with the band and flew them to Las Vegas."

update:
Found the original report in the OIQFC mag - after close inspection, it does NOT says Fort Worth was recorded - only that they were filming something - which can be the airport footage, or Freddie with that whip , or the backstage stuff, or maybe something else we havent seen yet etc ... so the crew who recorded Houston was different to the small film crew of Bob Harris, who were shooting a documentary and not the concert itself. Maybe we can conclude that FW is another misunderstanding...

I've heard that Harris was really disappoiunted when someone from Queen management came to him and confiscated all the stuff they recorded and he never finished the dosumentary... I wander what really happended...
Wasn't it rumoured that Fort Worth WAS recorded but the tapes burned in a fire...? Or am I talking about some entirely different rumour...?

Ok, my little word...
2 - for sure master tape tape or close like this exist - remember Sweet Lady from latest ANATO dvd release ?
5 - full raibow tapes with concerts from rainbow might still exist because this 1 hour release have few cuts, edits etc
7 - I don't think so, where is prove ?
3 - and finnaly my favourite mythicaly (or not) film from Rainbow gig from March '74. Well, I said this before and still say like in this my compare with pics from that era 1973/74. In Killer Queen I think there are shots from two different gigs:
- one from Rainbow '74
- and another unknow but possibly also from 74 and not from 73 but for sure not from Rainbow.
Two different gigs because there are two different camera angles - one under stage (Rainbow ?)and another one also showing Freddie with good angle but directly on Freddie. But maybe I'm wrong :P More confusions here:

I don't think that's enough evidence. This song was broadcast on TV back in the 70s (Old Grey Whistle Test) before an interview with Brian, so perhaps only that was preserved.

Indeed it was confirmed that Sweet Lady was taken from the OGWT 2 inch tape. It also seems that the original 16mm master reel was restored with modern technology, you only have to look at the quality of the clips on ANATO Classic Albums (as people have already mentioned), Eagle Rock Entertainment own the rights to that show (as with QRM and Classic Albums), I hardly think they would have bought those rights if the tapes were ruined.
