I'm beginning to learn PHP following a friend's advice, and I would like to know a good server with PHP support so that I can experiment freely.

Afterwards, I'd like an ad free place, for a project with some guys (which involves placing our own ads to make money).

I've already used Google, but most supposely "ad free" servers aren't really ad free, and most PHP servers have restrictions. :
Thanks in advance!

The Apache Web Server is free - http://httpd.apache.org/

And of course you probably know that you get PHP at http://www.php.net/

If you're going to be learning on Windows I recommend that you download the .msi files (Microsoft Installer) for both Apache and PHP to simplify the installation process, unless you're comfortable compiling from source.

As for free PHP-enabled, ad-free hosting, I don't think that exists :(
