Thanks, Raf, Hammy 79 is my favourite Queen concert ever. From where did you get your version? Somewhere else than QZ? I ask because I already have all the different QZ versions.

I got it from the Hub. :) It's the Gypsy Eye version, in case you're wondering.

I had to restart seeding it without CLTCL. The moderator banned the first attempt mentioning NIH was official. So I removed NIH, and they banned it again because of CLTCL. I'm quite pissed off at them for not telling me about both tracks at once. Ah well.

Thanks, yes, it's frustrating with all those rules, but we have to obey them, I guess. CLTCL was on the official video, so it had to be banned. But be prepared to get the whole show banned, as mine was, as I attempted to upload it at DIME last year. Know why? Because Queenonline sells the show in MP3 format online as a part of their "Top 100 bootlegs" series. That makes it some kind of official for DIME.

For the version: I already have the Gypsy Eye version and I'm not convinced that it's the best existing one. I have an mp3 version, which sounds better. It sounds like a mix of at least two sources (or, more likely, 2 generations of one source), because the noise level changes a bit from song to song. But the overall sound is the same throughout the show, as far as I remember. The Gypsy Eye version has much less noise, but sounds less clear as my MP3 version. It might be the same source, but probably with added noise reduction. Sorry to say that, but I prefer listening to my MP3 version!

I don't mind the rules. The only thing that pissed me off is that when they banned it for the first time, they warned me about NIH, but not about CLTCL. So I removed NIH and happily posted it, to have it banned again.

I guess that's what you're talking about.

I'll post the link there and let them ban that crap. I can upload it here instead, and, if The Trader's Den has no issues with "official bootlegs", I can upload it there as well. Quite pissed off at Dime at the moment. I think from now on I'll only download there and seed enough to keep my share ratio at a decent level, I won't bother sharing anything there anymore.

Hey, Raf, cheer up ;-)

I can understand, that you are pissed off at the moment, but if you think about it later on, you will see, that it's just bad luck, not bad policy. I had four torrents banned at DIME for different reasons, and each case was very similar to yours. Someone else researched better than me and reported my mistakes to DIME.

We should be grateful that DIME still exists, so if a small percentage of our shows can't be seeded there, that's of minor importance. They have to be very careful not to get shut down.

And by the way, Queen shows are especially difficult, because of EMI's "Top 100 bootlegs" series. And a lot of Queen shows are mp3 sourced!

I don't mind having my torrent deleted, I acknowledge I was a bit of an idiot for only considering Queen's releases, not stuff other people released featuring Queen.

But come on - telling me that I could reupload it without Now I'm Here without any trouble just to then delete it again because of another song?

Now I've already sent them the Top 100 Bootlegs link and let them delete it.

I guess my bandwidth and several hours of Hub downloads were wasted, I'd better make up for it after uploading Hammy'79 here on Queenzone. ;)

I have to wonder, who actually checks into these things? Is it someone who is an expert on every rock band? These are neutral people running a sharing website, and they knew that the three Left Handed Marriage tracks from 1967 were official. Unreal!

Hmm... could you perhaps share short samples of each version? The mix could be the one from Masahiko (I think?), which may be a matrix of the two sources?

Sorry Bob, I only have it on cd. I deleted the original files after I got the FLAC version. I shared it here on QZ back in 2006 – I swear, I will never share lossy files again ;-)! To be exact, it wasn't MP3 but m4a. God knows where I had those files from ...

If I find the time, I'll eventually compare those versions again, maybe I can point out some special or unique parts.

I'm sure it's not somebody13's (he was actually the one who did it) mix, I got my files back in 2005.

Well, if I saw LHM on there, I'd report it - which is probably what happens most of the time. I think it's quite a large set of mods though, so there probably is quite a wide knowledge base.

Although I think that the NiH '79 release is probably more obscure - vinyl only, years ago, etc
