hi, i've noticed that many people when they talk about queen talk about we will rock you, we are the champions or i want to break free but queen is so much more, and some early songs are being forgotten that i personally love like: who needs you, my melancholy blues, nevermore, you take my breath away

It's not that they ignore those songs. They simply don't know them, as they ar enot played on the radio

All of my friends seem to think that Queen are only famous for releasing Don't Stop Me Now, Bo Rap, WATC and WWRY etc. It's almost like people see Queen as a novelty band who wrote songs for parties. Of course this fun element was always part of Queen, but people seem to forget that they were all accomplished musicians who wrote some of the finest music of the 20th Century.

I think some 'Hot Space' things are very good songs (but recorded in a mediocre way).
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Rog didn't compose 'Innuendo.' Witness testimonies are often inaccurate. Wales is not in England. 'Bo Rhap' hasn't got 180 vox.

Apart from 7 Seas, all of Queen 2 gets ignored by most radio stations or non hardcore Queen Fan. Possibly due to the fact many of the songs segue into one another. Without doubt their greatest and most consitent album in my opinion but ironically has just one 'hit'.

If Bo Rhap took it up to 11... ...The Prophet's Song took it up to 12. Maybe that was too far, maybe it wasn't. If the public could take Bohemian Rhapsody, with sufficient airplay, they could've just as easily taken The Prophet's Song. I reckon there's a parallel world where Kenny Everett played The Prophet's Song 14 times in a day, and the rest is alternate history... EDIT: And Queen II, from which only SSoR is even slightly known.

I agree wholeheartly with "The Fairy Feller's Masterstroke" being a way overlooked jewel in Queen's crown. Most people don't realize that the song is simply about a painting by the same name set in midevil times and Freddie is simply describing all the things happening in the painting. That's pretty cool if you ask me. However I'll offer Flick of The Wrist, The Night Comes Down, and Teo Torriate.....

"Fairy Feller" is not about medieval times....it could be set in any time period...the only point about it is it's about fairies and a gathering to watch one fairy break a nut open.. The song probably says much more about Richard Dadd than it does the gathering....Richard Dadd had an almost destructive obsession with detail...he had a fondness for painting fairies - perhaps because of the detail? if you look at the painting closely...you will see bizarre attention to least significant detail...like the blades of grass get more attention than some of the sunjects behind them of course, he went mad, and killed his father

Jealousy, Millionare Waltz, Breakthru (well, the general public ignore it anyway), White Queen (as it began), and umm....cant think of anymore at the moment, coz im listening to Friends will be Friends at the moment and trying to disect the lyrics (dispute on QOL) so im not exactly concentrating. Also, genrally anything off Innuendo.
Roger: Can i go to lunch now?
Brian: No you can't.
