You know what is funny. You complain about the lack of uploads. It are always the same concerts that appear, is your exact complaint. And what do you do? You 'share' a widely available show(the first gen was shared here!!!in flac)...

You are confusing me with Tiger ... I complain about the attempt at mp3 censorship - not lack of uploads.

Just read this fabulous thread, the list of Queen concerts shared here in Flac :

http://www.queenzone.com/queenzone/forumnew/forum_topic_view.aspx?Q_FORUM_ID=4&Q_FORUM_NAME=Sharing+The+Music+-+Announce&TOPIC_SUBJECT=Queen+Flac+Concerts+LIST+on+Queenzone&Q=931884&page=4

I point you on the fourth page because it's there that the shares are sorted by chronologic order. You will find two links for the Leeds 82 concert in Flac (1st generation copy) :

29.05.1982 Leeds, 1ST GENERATION COPY
http://www.queenzone.com/queenzone/forumnew/forum_topic_view.aspx?Q=894547
http://www.queenzone.com/queenzone/forumnew/forum_topic_view.aspx?Q=893330

The first link is a torrent.
The second list rapidshare files. If they don't exist anymore, well just ask for a re-upload, and why not make a request in the request forum !!

Hope that helps,

Regards,

Olivier,
France.

Every time a lossless share is converted to mp3 and reshared, the chances of the hoarder of Memphis 78 changing his mind to share the recording get slimmer and slimmer.

Keep up the good work, Gym Bitch.

I was expecting you to say something pithy like "Every time a lossless share is converted to mp3, God kills a kitten!" ;-)

I have no control over what a few hoarders or you choose to share, and I do not have voo-doo mind control powers over you or any hoarders.

The choice to not share because mp3 sharing is allowed on QZ is just a selfish excuse not to share.

You just don't have a clue. Please, stop pretending that you do.

You are the selfish (and blatantly arrogant) one for imposing your lack of quality standards on tapers/sharers when they're the ones who make the recordings available for you in the first place.

If someone has an uncirculated show, you play by their rules. If you don't, they won't share it. Simple as that. Ask any Zeppelin collector. Whether or not it's fair or just is not up to you to decide.

Keeping on going with your little mp3 crusade. You're doing a great job.

And I would like to addd that when you download a Flac file, then it is not a problem, as you can very easily convert this to mp3, very quickly and easily. But your recording comes from a 100% lossless file, therefore of the best quality available. You hear the concert as it was played. You degrade it by converting to mp3, sure, but you are increasing the (high) risks of problems by making a mp3 circulating, instead of the lossless format (Flac for example). So people, one simple thing, download the Flac files and convert to mp3 for your own use after that, we can explain you how to proceed. And if you want to share something or think you could one day share these files, then just keep the Flac files stored somewhere, simple as that !
Don't deny quality.

Olivier,
France.

Well there's always trading.

I mean if the dude who has Memphis is so selfish to keep the recording for himself, because he thinks someone degrade it to mp3, then let him be.

In fact he shouldn't have had it, because taping was illegal (unless it was a grateful dead concert).

But if he won't share it here, ask him to trade it. You seem to have a lot. Ok ok I know you probably have tried it before. But why would he run the risk of seeing his recording ruined here, when he can just give it to people he trusts?

(Bob may say people sharing mp3 are ruining it for others is selfish, I saw no-one complaining 4 years ago when a mp3 concert was shared)

So anyway, we've been through this for like 2 or 3 years now.

Mp3 concerts will be shared, many will be banned and will return, but for christ sakes, it's not your life we're talking about here. People won't die if a concert is shared in mp3. This is a Queen forum where people can talk about Queen, nothing more, nothing less.

If you see collecting as your life instead of a hobby then you have a serious mental issue.

The copy of the Leeds concert that I shared is over 2-1/2 years old.

As for Cologne, has anybody has anyone found a lossy flac copy of GH's Cologne? I am sure I would have heard about it if someone had found a lossy flac.

Five or so years ago QZ had many elitist traders who bragged about what they had and refused to share.

Now we have many elitist flackers that treat mp3 sharers as lower class scum.

I don't consider myself as an "elitist flacker" for my part. I am quite new on Queenzone, even if I read the threads for some times. So no, I am not that elitist. Just I use quality and respect the quality and the music and the people who worked on it when quality is available, nothing more.
And I don't consider yourself as a low-class something, nothing bad, just it is a shame that you are trying to share mp3 when lossless is available. That you use it is fine, but why the hell sharing this as mp3 when some people worked to make it lossless and share it, to offer us the best quality ? I would understand if people could not convert the files themselves, or if it would be a complicated thing to do, but it's far than that, it is really easy. So. But I understand you can want to use mp3 because of hardware material not supporting Flac format for example. I myself would do if I was in your case. But still, I would download the quality files and then convert them. No need to search for low-quality when high-quality will be available.

Olivier,

Ok why would someone interested in mp3 download a flac and convert it to mp3 when mp3 is offered?

Because it is the best way to control the quality of the music on your final mp3, believe it or not. That way you will be sure that the chance of music being altered would have been reduced to the only time when you converted the files from lossless, ie when yourself convert it.
If you donwload a mp3 that has been converted one, two, three, ten times before arriving to you, the quality has hugely decreased. And therefore you help spreading a bad quality show. But if you convert it yourself, then you don't do that, you and only you has the risk and disavantages of this quality decrease. Not the other ones.
But of course it can seem long and you can think as a selfish person, and say, "well, I don't mind about that, all I was is listen to the show, no worry what is the quality". But it would be sad as you could also think "I can take some minutes more and convert it myself, this way I will benefit from (almost) excellent quality, and I won't help spreading bad quality to other fans and colleagues here".

I understand your question, but believe me, one mp3 downloaded is just a thousand times worse than a "home-made" mp3 (I mean a mp3 you created yourself).

Olivier,
France.
