After reading Gym Bitch's latest contributions in the announce forum, I have to write to you moderators of this site! Please excuse my english, I hope you understand what I'm trying to say...
Queenzone has become the most popular site for Queenfans & Collectors on the net. I understand and appriciate Richard's liberal thinking about sharing concerts in any file format, but since technology progressed and lossless files are available, the trading scene progressed too and lossless is now today's standard. 90% of all trading sites only accept lossless files.
Since QZ become so big, it means there's a need for responsibility of what happened on this site.
I'm also active at other trading forums and Queenfans have the worst reputation of all!
There are great people here in this forum, people who spend their spare time searching for new recordings, making fantastic compilations or remasters. These people ARE QZ!
And you have people who doesn't care about any quality preservation, annoying everybody with their bad manners & language (F*ck flac'ers..)and spreading mp3's recordings - not because they are fans! See the latest example at the announce section..this is only to provoke the more serious fans. Have one of these "provokers" ever done something special, e.g. a remaster or unearthed a new recording? NO!
But these people ruin the reputation of Queenfans, and most important, the reputation of QZ!
There are ways how this problem could be solved.
I'm not for banning mp3's (but this would be the best..) , but 2 seperate announce sections could be an improvement.
One for the serious collectors, one for casual fans who have not these quality standards.
I don't want to critizize Richard or YV, you do a great job, but more popularity means more responsibility! Don't let these people ruin the hard work of others!
