Hello everyone. I have a question and I'm sure it's not too difficult...
I have an old tape of queen material and I was just wondering if I should keep my video tape, or if this is on DVD by now:

"The Queen Special" +- 50 minutes

* Now I'm here
* Another bites the dust
* You're my best friend
* "Flash"
* We will rock you
* Let me entertain you
* Don't stop me now
* Killer Queen
* I'm in love with my car, Taylor
* Crazy little thing called love
* Somebody to love
* Sheer heartattack
* Save me
* We will rock you
* We are the champions
Interviews with Janet Charles, Ringo Starr, Barbara Bach, John Cleese, Roy Kinnear and others.
I think it is from 1979 (?). I haven't played the tape for a while. Google didn't help me out. Is this available on dvd or not? Thanks for your help.

Yes, that's all from the Hammersmith 1979, concert for Kampuchea.

There are several bootleg-DVD's floating around in excellent quality, compiled from different sources to get the most complete version of the show.
There is more material in it then there is in the Queen Special, though a FULL version is not doing the rounds.

It depends on the quality. Did you record it off TV yourself and preserve the tape well?

Oh so all of this is already around? I wasn't too sure about the interviews bit.
It wasn't my tape, someone else recorded it.

Is yours the original copy or a copy of their tape? If it's straight from TV and the tape is in good condition, then it may be worth getting it done to DVD.

If it's an off air or even a copy, then it will be worth putting it to DVD.

Thanks for your advice. It looks like a second generation copy, it could definately be better.
But does this already circulate in fan circles? Because that would save me the trouble of making a (at best medium quality) transfer.

Oh yeah, it definitely has circulated very well. A new tape would probably only be valuable if it was a straight copy from TV.

Thanks anyway for your effort!

Are you able to do some "screen shots" ? Or I could upload screenshots from the "common version" and you will decide if your version is better or worse ?

Not really possible, I haven't transferred a thing yet. In fact, I wouldn't mind a clue where I can get the common version? :D?

I have 2 versions - one is a bonus on the Digital Queen Archives version of Hammersmith Odeon 79, it's in pretty bad quality, the sound is much better then the video, and the commentaries are overdubbed to german.
The second version I have is a Japan TV re-broadcast. The video is MUCH better, it's just shorter, the colors are incorrect, every second song has japanese subtitles,and the audio is all in english.
