Why oh why?! It's one of the things I loved them for, the fact that they wrote all their own songs. Please drop the cover version off the new album and keeep them for the gigs (if you really must).

Man... every topic I've seen about the new album has been doom and gloom.

No, I think the album is a great idea but the guys have so much talent...they should keep the cover versions for the solo album flights of fancy.

hmmm --- maybe 'red house' ?
i wonder why the complete version wasn't spread widely (and for complete and good quality) in this place.(yes there was an upload(btw- thx), but one of minor quality, dears!)
would look foreward to it.

as bri published 'another world' i couldn't imagine that 'menphis' or 'rainy wish' would make sense in any way- hey ! but listen to them! nice songs! superb production!
anyway - sure it's unusual to find a cover version on a queen album (besides those mentioned before) - but as it was said oh so many times: this aint queen, this is q+pr!
cant wait to hear it! [and damn it afterwards :-) ]

The cover could be 'Let Me Out'....or 'London Town' ....or 'Man On Fire'.........or 'Movin On'......
or

it doesn't say who they are covering

Sh*t, we love the live version of 'Tutti Fruitti'.

oh, yeah, that was a cover, too

damn, The Beatles released how many covers? Zep released how many uncredited covers?

the world will keep revolving

I'm going to go out on a limb and say "Since You've Been Gone." Brian really rocked that song on his tours, and I can hear Paul's vocals working out very nicely with the track.

I'm quietly curious as to whether "cover" is code for "we're finally putting the slow/fast version of Hammer to Fall on tape."

Something like that would be my guess. It would be just like them to 'cover' one of their own songs ;)

Or, in their continuing 'rehash' fashion, they could have done a studio version of 'Imagine'. ;)

But I'm hoping for something totally unexpected and not even previously performed live.

I'd rather hear a new song instead of a cover.

And I've always wondered........... did people who attended the Magic Tour shows feel a bit ripped off when Queen performed all those covers? I know I probably would have when they could have played another 3 of their own songs!

I wasn't there, but I honestly get physically bored and restless and irritated trying to sit through those songs on video.. I don't know why it is, but they annoy the hell out of me. Even moreso than sitting through one of Bri's solos.

I guess I'm kinda the opposite way of thinking.. properly done in a studio, a cover might be nice, but just wasting time in some silly and very loose live rendition seems pointless. I think the worst culprit was 'Tutti Fruity', when the drums kick in and it becomes longer and louder.. I could puke.

I don't exactly mind Queen+Paul Rodgers including a cover version on the new album. Queen have in fact done cover versions in the past; some of which sounded really good. In regards to Queen performing covers live, I thoroughly enjoy that! I honestly can't see why some people don't appreciate those segments in the concerts. It's a moment where the band and the audience can sort of reflect music that they both 'love'. It's often the case that the band gets tired of its own music.

I think the covers in Queen show were always a lot of fun. The medley at Wembley is great. Freddie sounds awesome & the harmonies were good. They are clearly enjoying themselves. I love the oldies medley they would perform in the 70's to close the shows. I'm not a fan of bands recording covers for an album. That is where I want the most new recordings on disc. Live covers are escapism for the band as much as seeing the concert is for all the fans in attendance.

I think if Brian were to do a severely abridged studio version of some of the *better* stuff from his long solo, that'd be cool.

As for there being a cover on the new album.... yawn, don't much care really. As long as it's not "Immigrant Song".

A Queen & Paul Rodgers version of Let me Out would be great indeed :D

i wouldnt mind hearing jailhouse rock.

they've always done great with that song...and Paul would be good on vocals for it.
