What's the story about Queen Ukraine 1983 concert? Did it happen or its just a hoax?

please be polite as i do not know NOTHING about this but i've heard that it has been demanded that they played in Ukraine on 1983... is it myth like Knebworth video masters and Hangman studio or it's the real deal?

thanks.

I'm in deep shock. I originally wanted to write something not very polite, but instead I'll write this - they played NOWHERE in 1983, they played NEVER in Ukraine. Both Knebworth video masters and Hangman studio DO EXIST.

BTW you still wonder why some people call you names ?

Oh- but that thread gave us one of the best responses EVER... I think it was Lester...
"Cut him in half and count the rings..."

To answer that- they played in Urk (as pointed- in Holland) and Jeroen taped it. But he will never share it. Bastard.

Amazing use of the double negative there - "i do not know NOTHING about this". The very definition of your statement means that you, in actual fact know something about the very thing you ask about! So you tell us, please.

It's been always mystery for my Slav mind what means "I don't have no time for no monkey business". In Russian language it's a little bit stupid to say something like "I have no time" we say "I no have time" instead just one time in sentence (the rule based on reading from the left to the right, so if you "have no" you need to say "no" before "have" otherwise you "have"), so that "don't have no time for no" is real puzzlement for someone who starts to learn English.

Yep- same in Polish- we DO use double negative- i.e. we actually say (if translated word by word) "I don't know nothing" or "I don't see nothing". But after 7 years in UK, using English 90% of the time 24/7- I don't mind switching from one to another when necessary... :) doesn't bother me anymore :)

Don't listen to him! That's what they want you to believe!

Ukraine 1983 was a legendary concert. A bootleg of it is said to be the Holy Grail of Queen collecting, even more valuable than the studio masters of Hangman or the rock 'n roll medley would be. While very little is known about the concert details, as those who do have the recording go to great lengths to spread misinformation and conceal the truth, we do have good reason to believe that the band broke from tradition and played the classic Ukrainian folk song, "Oy, Syvaya Zozylenka" ("Oh, Grey Cuckoo") as part of a BoRhap medley. No one knows exactly why, but as the story goes, Roger was particularly stoned out the night before the concert, and it seems he ate the tape containing the operatic mid-section of the song in a horrific fit of the munchies.

Oh come, on! Please stop spamming the board with all those lies!
It was, once and for all, URK in the Netherlands!
Roger was indeed stoned (another proof it was actually in the Netherlands!) and the song they played in Bohemian Rhapsody was actually De Oud Urker Klompendans! They were joined on stage byt a Dutch guy called Paul de Leeuw (who was upcoming back then and nowadays one of the most popular tv-personalities in the country) and some sailors in traditional clothing.
Lol - I still remember the face on Freddie when he saw the sailors!! ;-))
