Guys,

Great news.

Further to a post on this forum about BBC Radio 6 playing the above session last February, I e-mailed Chris Carr and asked if he would be airing this again. He kindly responded as follows;

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
"Hi Keith

Thanks for your e-mail and thank you for listening to the show we hope you enjoy it. As you can understand we get hundreds of requests for BBC Sessions and there is quite a large list, I have checked our schedule for the next few weeks, and have slotted the Queen session from 28/10/1977 in on 24th of May. Hope this is ok for you sorry we couldn't find and earlier slot for you.

Thanks once again for you e-mail and request.

Chris C"

I'm not sure what time it will be on but "keep a look out!" :-)

Perhaps some of our more technically minded folks can suggest the best way of capturing this? I've tried to record audio from the Sky+ box before but I always get an annoying 'squelching' noise.

Cheers,

Keith.

To be honest, it would be better if they decided to air some of the older sessions, but this is also great. I hope somebody will record it :)

It would be very nice to record this, someone with the right tools will record this surely.
I'd record this if I lived in the UK but I don't haha

Great news! I do keep an eye on what 6Music are gonna play. The Dream Ticket used to be the main show but its now the Live At Midnight Show. Never checked this guy out, but if hes on at 4am its no wonder! 6Music usually play stuff thats already been released, although I think I have one track they broadcast from Hammersmith 75.

Just to bring to your attention, if your hoping for a wonderful flac recording - think again.

If you record straight from a DAB Radio into your soundcard, then the recording will be at 128kbps.

There is a way to capture via DVB, which I think is through your Sky and this broadcast was at 192kbps last time I heard anything.

I've heard one track from the Hammy 75 gig broadcast on 6Music and although the quality was slightly better than what is widely available, its ain't gonna be lossless.

I recorded a stream from BBC radio 6 last year. Think it was the George Lamb show, Golders Green 1973.
I used nero wave editor to record it in Wav format, although its not perfect it is quite good.
Here's a sample from that recording http://rapidshare.com/files/103837146/Queen_on_BBC_6.flac

If they stream the show your talking about it will be fairly easy to record it in high quality.

Hope this helps,
Mark.

I have four songs of that show from an italian bootleg. This bootleg comes with a fake audience in the background, but excellent sound, 100% CD-audio according to TAU analyzer.
The songs are: We Will Rock You (Slow & Fast), It's Late, My Melancholy Blues & Spread Your Wings.
Did Queen performed any more songs?
Can this show be uploaded here?
Somebody answer this please.

Well, Greg Brooks announced this weekend that the BBC sessions would be released on CD very soon. Maybe these will be the planned release of November, or maybe they will be next year.

Yes, I know, I'll say it before someone else does: "I'll believe it when I have it".

Marknow - thats not Golders Green '73, its Hammersmith '75.

It sounds like you've recorded that from the live webstream?
