Rap bad boy Eminem is set to share the stage with Nelson Mandela at his 90th birthday bash this summer, it has been confirmed.

Eminem — real name Marshall Mathers — was tempted out of retirement by the gig’s organizer, Queen rocker Brian May, to perform at the former South African president’s June 27 concert in London’s Hyde Park.

A source said: “We’re amazed to have Eminem on board.

“We wanted some of the greatest artists from recent times and Eminem was on the list.

“Brian contacted Eminem’s management on the off-chance and never expected him to go for it.

“It’s going to be explosive stuff and it’s certainly a big stage to make his comeback.”

The ‘Slim Shady’ star’s set list is yet to be discussed — but it’s unlikely he’ll be singing anything controversial.

Adds the source: “I know Eminem’s lyrics are always at the center of controversy but people forget he did actually sing with Elton John at the Grammys.

“He also publicly apologized for the offense caused by racist lyrics.”

Eminen, 35, joins a bill which includes Stevie Wonder, Annie Lennox and British bands Keane and Razorlight.

I hope Queen does something with Eminem.

I pray to God that they do not. I also pray to God that Marshell Mathers does not go to this show and that the aliens take him away FOREVER! If there is anything more offensive that Queen doing this then I don't know what is. How incompetant of them. It is so obvious they are just trying to ride his curtails. Shit they even admit that he has BEEN over by saying this will somehow be a comeback. Here's a newsflash. He won't make a comeback.

And that could in fact turn out to be cool I guess....

I like the instrumental parts of the song, but Brian's "singing" is quite painfull....

That was exactly how it was meant to be ...

... not that he could have sung it otherwise, of course :P

He wrote it in his soapbox, if I recall correctly. That couldn't be worse than Brian's shouting, I guess. :/

Cheers,

Fuck Eminem. Worthless. He's a master lyricist, but he has absolutely nothing to say.

- It seems quite obvious that you have issues. Is there something you want to share with us? It seems like a lot is going on in your head.

and I guess Eminem has nothing to say compared to all that you've been through...?

This might be construed as improvement on the 46664 PR front when compared to last week's news photos of Naomi Campbell's most recent arrest while wearing a 46664 cap as she was escorted by security/law enforcement from a commercial airline after another of her outbursts.

I actually liked Brian laying some of his guitar work over Lose Yourself as an opening for the previous tour, if they were to collaborate on that in maybe a more extended way at 46664 I wouldn't be opposed to it.

We all know Eminem is really a rocker at heart, and he loves Queen.

LoL..

Does anyone remember when Eminem's old official site had Queen as one of the links?

Remember bits of We Will Rock You are in the song 'Puke'
