If anyone got a copy of June's Classic Rock, as well as the QPR article, there is a review of Def Leppard's latest album, The Sparkle Lounge. Mention is made of one of the songs on the Album, Love, and I have now downloaded it. I have to say that the article in Classic Rock is spot on, the song is very Queen. Anyone else heard it yet?

I would say that this song sounds like a hybrid mix of You Take My Breath Away (style wise) and Beatles Sun King style backing vocals. Very good song from them. A real return to form

A fantastic song off a fantastic album. 'Love' took me by complete surprise. It's nice to have a quality Leppard album in the wake of the abysmal 'X' album.

I have this album, it is an excellent effort from a band who doesn't really get as much respect as they should. I recommend it for any Leppard fan or anyone who needs a new dose of rock and roll. Think about it. This is the year for rock and roll's finest. I mean, Def Leppard's new album, Queen + Paul Rodgers' upcoming album, Rush's latest live album and second part of their Snakes and Arrows tour (I'm going to their June 9th concert in Chicago), AC/DC's upcoming album...yeah. Rock and roll is here to stay :p -=Brian=-

Just out of interest from anyone that has Leppard's "Adrenalize" album, I've heard Joe Elliot say that "Heaven Is" is heavily inspired by Queen and in some ways is "More Queen than Queen". Might explain why it's one of my favourites of the album. What does everyone else think?

yes andy, I thought the same thing by hearing Love. The chourus is absolutely Queenesque and reminds very strictly Jealousy from Freddie Mercury, Jazz album. The guitar solo is very Brian style. Afret all they're close friends. This is an awesomw album from Leppard's. Let's get, let's get, let's get, let's get rocked...... bye Claudio

The first time I heard the song I thought that Def Leppard used some parts of "Jealousy"!

Beautiful song. I hear a bit of Queen influence, sure, but not anymore than I hear a ton of other influences, including Led Zep and Aerosmith. In fact, mostly Aerosmith I'd say :) You know, back when Aerosmith were good..... But sampling this album is sure a breath of fresh air. I'm sold already.

BTW Adam and all, if you add &fmt=18 to most recent YouTube videos, you get a stereo/HQ/widescreen version, depending on the source. So this one in stereo is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpFVRWkG0S8&fmt=18

On the subject of the Lepp's, I have just seen something thoroughly embarassing.... they appeared on Dancing With The Stars (the US version of Strictly Come Dancing).... they obviously just did that one for the money I reckon. Still a great band.
