I put a copy of The Rocky Horror Show (not Picture show) soundtrack into my computer disc drive and it came up with the songs, as usual, and then just for the sake of it I looked at the artists and on the track "Hot Patootie", the one that Eddie sings (for those who have seen it) and the first name in the list of artists was our very own Brian May.
What I want to know, is this 'our very own' Brian May, or was this some other Brian May? It's been bugging me for quite a while now and in biographies I've read of Brian, there's no mention of it, yet the voice on the track sounds like his. Does anyone know?

There's a different Brian May that does movie soundtracks. Put "Brian May" into IMDB or iTunes to find out more.

Hot Patootie was covered by Brian May, it's a bonus track on the Japanese version of "Another World".

I do not want any google ads here.

I know what you mean. When I first saw Nightmare on elmstreet, Brian May were among the credits. I almost started laughing but sure as hell, it was Brian. And his red special too. And up until a few years ago I almost went out to buy the album cause of this mixup. Once I saw it again and this time I could hear that it wasn´t "our" Brian...

Yes it is indeed 'our' BM who plays guitar, produces and sings on Richard O'Brien's 'Rocky Horror Show' Original Soundtrack by various artists. The song was called 'Whatever Happened To Saturday Night' and later re titled 'Hot Patootie'. BM plays the character of 'Eddie'.
It was recorded in 1995 and the soundtrack CD came out in 1996. His wife Anita Dobson also appeared on this CD.
'Hot Patootie' was also available on the 'Another World' CD single released in Holland in 1998 and on the USA 'Retro Rock Special' promo EP credited to T.E.Conway as well as the Japanese 'Another World' CD album.
