Yes, but the Brazilian player was only naturalized a couple of weeks ago while "our Poles" have grown up here.

To be honest - a European championship without England is only half the fun. We miss the British tabloid warlords, too;)

Today: Holland vs Italy in the "death group".

Always nice to see a team full of players thinking their the best in the world only to go home after quarterfinals... ;)

Wait- we still have Spain!!! ;)

Bravo Dutch!!!
And- as I absolutely hate Italian football (diving, simulating, fouling- and creative players like Del Piero or Cassano on bench... HOME!!!- todays result made me REALLY happy!!!
Oranje- new champions? I bloody hope so!!! They were absolutely FANTASTIC- what i really loved was the fact that when they were three nul up- they were trying to score the fourth... way to go!!!!

Let's not get too optimistic... it was just the first match. But we played well. :D

Still Portugal is the favourite in my eyes.

England are there in a way.the Euro's havent had the benefit[?] of mr Howard Webb refereeing yet.expect at least one red card when he does.

did anyone else change channel during the romania/ France game? awful, just awful.it was like watching Norwich vs Ipswich.Paul O'Grady on Ch4 has never been watched by me with so much pleasure.

oh,yes, and wasnt it nice of Scotland to make an appearance last night against Holland, but why were they wearing Italy shirts?

Great performance by the Dutch team, I never expected Italy to lose 0-3. So, Marco Van Basten did everything right, after all. Best wishes to Van Gaal, Johan Cruyff et al - and now shut up.

LOL! Actually I didn't have to change the channel as I fell asleep 5 minutes into the match.
But do you know what really bothered me? : 15 000 yellow buggers not knowing the fucking national anthem! And nobody noticed!

Cruijff has actually been the advisor of Van Basten, till they fought a few months ago. But that fight was about the youth academy of Ajax, not about the Dutch national team.

I don't know what's worse. Falling asleep after 5 minutes, or not knowing the national anthem. xD

Anyway, we Dutch are good with our national anthem. So join our country if that is what bugs you. ;-)

i'd like to see/hear you try to explain the offside rule to Maggie using the first Dutch goal as an example and while you are at it you may want to explain it to the Swedish linesman too ;-]
