Original comments:
I'm sharing this one as many people seem to be searching for a clean copy of
this recording. I downloaded it a long time ago from the hub but it came with
a lot of annoying clicks and pops. I removed them with ClickRepair and I'm
happy with the result.

This is the first ever concert of Queen in France. They seem really happy to
get over this country that have ignored them during such a long time. There is
no much to say as in my mind, this is perhaps the best tour Queen have ever
made. Just listen and enjoy this great show... ;)

I rated the recording as vg+. It is very clear but there is some tape hiss
which is a little bit annoying during the quiet moments or if you listen to it
with headphones. It is still one of the best recordings of this tour so
everyone should enjoy it.

The recording is complete. I've remarked some minor sound problems during Keep
Yourself Alive. If you find other problems on this recording, just tell me...

By the way, there is still no recording of the second night so if you have it,
attended it or know someone who might have recorded it, please tell...

My comments :
I have downloaded this version some time ago and I was bothered by the fact
that in runs too fast. Since I couldn't find a better copy I decided to do it
by myself, so I have decoded the flac files to wav, corrected the speed in Cool
Edit Pro and encoded them back to FLAC with Trader's Little Helper with
removing all the nasty SBEs.

Thank you very much Pittrek. Paris is a very good idea, and Montreal will be without any doubts an upgrade. I already have the Toronto gig so I can confirm it's worth listening!

Thanks again Pittrek

The only remaining cuts are during Somebody To Love, Spread Your Wings, and
Keep Yourself Alive (to a lesser extent). It seems the person recording the
show used 90 minute tapes, which explains the cuts during SYW and KYA, but
the STL cut is there perhaps because a security guard had come close by. You
can hear the tape wheel turning in the left channel for the few minutes
surrounding the first tape flip. I have also removed all of the little clicks
from the recording. Thanks to Ginger for sending me a clean version of '39,
as mine had those brutal digi-clicks!

Lineage of better version: AUD > Master > 1st Gen Cassette > WAV > CDR (x) >
WAV > FLAC Frontend level 8 > WAV (GoldWave pitch correction) > FLAC level 8

Lineage of inferior version: AUD > ? > Cassette > WAV > CDR (x) > FLAC
Frontend level 8 > WAV (GoldWave pitch correction) > FLAC level 8

This is a fantastic show, with the band in a very relaxed mood, as they were a
couple days before in Montreal. Freddie is in a bit better voice, too. After
a subtle applause following Let Me Entertain You, Freddie says, "You should've
seen the audience in Montreal. They'll teach you a thing or two." Boos
ensue! He continues, "Forget the security. This is your night!". Freddie
delivers a great (and gutsy in places!) version of Dreamers Ball. The boys
have a fantastic jam during Brighton Rock. Brian is horribly out of tune
during his WWRY solo! Overall, it's an excellent show, and just as essential
as the other great-sounding shows from the tour.

Distribute these files only if they are left completely unaltered, (Well I have renamed them and tagged them, I hope it's not considered as an "alteration" :-) ) and always
include the lineage information. As always with my shares (and preferably
everybody else's!), be sure that this recording is not made available at
Queenzone or elsewhere in mp3 or any other lossy format. Keep lossless files
lossless, unless it's for your own use. :)

Enjoy!

Sir GH

Another concert from this year is Chicago and I also think this one was originally shared here by SirGH

-- DO NOT CONVERT THIS TO MP3 OR ANY OTHER LOSSLESS FORMAT --

Band: Queen
Venue: Stadium, Chicago
Date: December 7th, 1978

Lineage: Master (Technics RS-646DS) > WAV > CDR (2) > WAV > GoldWave (edits
smoothed out) > FLAC frontend level 8

I received this recording directly from the taper himself, so it simply can't
get any better than this! It's a truly excellent recording. Like

Band: Queen
Venue: Vancouver, B.C., Pacific Coliseum
Date: December 14, 1978

1gen Analog ReMaster to digital
Originally recorded by Fred W. from right up front and center
Tape to tape copy and mastering by Audioarchivist U - 101

Lineage: Queen > PA & stage monitor sound > air and audience > Fred's mics and rig (unsure - Marantz?) > Maxell UD90 tapes > vintage Akai replay deck (azimuth adjusted, no Dolby) > Sentrek 12 band analog EQ (minor low and high boost) > Denon DRM500 recording deck (Dolby on for recording) to make my tape copy > Maxell XL II 90 > played back on same Denon DRM500 (azimuth
re-adjusted, no Dolby) > Sentrek 12 band analog EQ (more lows and highs, shaping upper bass/lower mids) > SoundBlaster live! 5.1 card (grounded and
tweaked) > Wavelab 4.0(track markers only, no digital processing at all) > FLAC > WAV > re-editing in Cool Edit Pro > Trader's Little Helper > FLAC

Original Notes:
When I originally copied this from Fred's collection for myself on cassette, I was amazed how clear this recording was and how close Fred sounded to the stage. I almost always performed EQ surgery on any copies I made to try and smooth everything out, and this was no exception. This tape, like many recordings Fred did thru the years, was pretty close to perfect already and
didn't need much work to make it sound like you were actually there, however, the lowest tones of bass and kick drum were a little thin, and upper
bass/lower vocal range was a little jumpy. Well that's all fixed now. There is some noise associated with the original tapes (normal bias "low noise" tapes!) but that should not discourage you at all. My copy sounded more pleasing than the originals did, and even more refined when played into the computer for you now. I have chosen to not process the noise out, and leave a little bit
of the shit and corruption in. I think the background noise gives this tape life and breath, and removing it would kill the atmosphere it brings. You will get used to it after 5 minutes, and it's not noticeable at all over the music.

I have tracked this for CD in the way it was on the master tapes, leaving all sides uncut. Side A is disc 1 (38:39), while sides B and C fit on disc 2 (77:27). I have included scans of my color photocopies of Fred's original master tape covers for you, and a copy of the cover of the 1978 tour book. I have no real artworx for this NEW MASTERPIECE, so if you make some, please post them at TTD in the thread for this bootleg, and also please email me jpegs of your results.

Feel free to make audio CDR's of this for your friends and family, but if any of them might trade further, please provide them with a copy of the FLAC files. Don't rip from the audio CDR copies you make, EVER! There is no need to pee in the trading pool. Backup your FLAC files, you'll need them later! If you can avoid it, don't EnCrap to MP3 files, either. MP3 sounds like crud anyway, and this dynamic recording will suffer greatly in lossy formats. If I find out you spread around an MP3 version of this, I'll come to your house and do bad things to you and yours... like farting in your fridge! So, just don't make into lossy files, please! That goes for you, too AAC and OGG!

My comments : The original flac files were very badly edited, for example Killer Queen & Bicycle Race were in one file, and Brighton Rock was split into 4 different files. I have re-edited it correctly and share it with you here. Also some songs had wrong titles. They are also changed
My changes are bold and italic in this text

Thanks a lot for the Paris show. It will be good to hear that at a normal pace. Thanks as well for the other shows. I'll definitely download as soon as possible !

Vote Pittrek for president !

Well, I wouldn't wish such a thing even to my worst enemy, but Pittrek would be a great president of Brazil. At least for two reasons:

1) He gives people something; and good stuff - Our Government provides nothing to the population.

2) The country would start to move with Pittrek's speed correction. Hahaha.

Man, it'd be good, I tell you, but he's kind and so I'd never wish him such a thing.

Ah, yes, I forgot, there are mediafire links for the Chicago gig, though some threads ago. When I get back from class I try posting them here, if Pittrek thinks it's a good idea.

Good monday everybody!
