Extremely rare indeed, and legitimate at that!

auction says:

Mercury writes just as Queen has broken big in America, to the man who made it possible, expressing his sincerest thanks.

So this means Queen had some kind of a following in the US before they toured with Mott The Hoople there in 1974...? I thought the tour is what created that, since the first two albums didn't sell well.

Yeah, I'll just save the scan to my hard drive, thanks.

If I can get 10,000 people to give me a $1 I can get this. Come on people. Cough up. It's what Freddie would have wanted!

Here are direct links to Jac Holzman's letter describing the Freddie letter:

Sounds like Brian tried to propose to him in 2006 at the RnR Hall of Fame ceremony.

Screw me. I guess this is real.

But the price, the time it took to list it (3 months), just in time for the new album, there are lots of things that I would question... but the first would have to be my sanity for even considering paying THAT!!

I assume you'll cover the shipping costs by yourself, then? Or will you be needing $24 more from 24 more people? :D

I don't think it's photoshopped out. I think the paper is shaped like that.

Good point. I will need the additional $24 for shipping. Glad you brought it up. ;-)

Then you'll need to tear it up into 1024 pieces and mail each person his or her share.

Don't be silly. I will just send everybody a picture of myself holding the letter.

No, it's not.

A "Music scholarship"? Please. In India? How exactly is that a good cause? So someone is going to get $9999.00 to learn how to play the Sanfur. Great.

Maybe one day they'll be on Peter Gabriel's Realworld label and you'll find it in the cut-out bin, since no one buys that crap.

Okay, I admit it: I bought it.

But only because I ran out of toilet paper.
