Am I going nuts or does 'My Melancholy Blues' sound a lot like Gracie Fields's WW2-era song 'Sally', which can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWSuF7EN3YA

I'm talking about the songs not the artists. Apologies, We'll Meet Again was the Gracie Fields song of WW2 era. I'm not a fan :p

What will you think about The millionaire waltz...?

No I don't think MMB and Sally looks like, there's a very common "crescendo" in the verse that seems like you say.

No it wasnt. We'll meet again was by Vera Lynn. And no, Melancholy Blues is nothing like this song apart from the afore mentioned crescendo.

I obviously need to brush up on my knowledge of Vera Lynn and Gracie Fields. Still, it's good to see so many fans still around.

I always did appreciate the classics. For what it's worth, the melody is kind of similar -- it took my girlfriend to figure it out though. I just wasn't hearing the connection, but if you listen long enough you'll hear the simularity.

Especially the start of the song "Sadly, sadly..."
