I just came back from the gig in Colombia, and it was fuckin' amazing.

Everybody in Argentina (except for Alex) brace yourselves, because once you see what Muse does on stage you won't be asking for U2 to come back.

Same here.

I've seen U2, Metallica, Green Day, Aerosmith, Depeche Mode, and a whole bunch of other acts known for putting great live performances, but still there's not a single act that I've seen that could put a better show than Muse.

WTF, dude?

Are you also gonna tell us Matt or whoever sings for them is better than Freddie as well? ;)

I don't get the whole obsession over those arrogant indieots.

Sorry, but U2 shows just got fuckin boring ever since they started trying to sound Coldplay (and no, it's not the other way around).

On top of that, we have to put up with Bono's African Aid preaching on stage. I seriously don't understand why U2 would go to Latin America, charge $150 - $200 dollars for tickets in countries where the average person earns 1/3 to 1/4 less than the salary in the US or Europe. Like that wasn't enough, he starts talking about Africa like it's the only place on earth with poverty. I guess they haven't been told that there's plenty of slums in Latin America as well.

At least Muse focuses more on giving one hell of a good live show, to make audiences get their money's worth.

Since when?

Like it's the band that decides ticket prices. Besides that, tickets for the concerts here in Brazil sold out in less than 48 hours - are you sure they weren't affordable?
And as far as I remember, the cheapest tickets were at about R$140,00 which back then would correspond to something between US$70,00 and US$80,00. For students, pensioners and a few other groups, half the price only, due to a federal law. If I had managed to get my ticket, it would've costed me about US$70,00. Isn't it about 1/3 of US$200,00?

Like that wasn't enough, he starts talking about Africa like it's the only place on earth with poverty. I guess they haven't been told that there's plenty of slums in Latin America as well.

Well, did you know Bono was fooled by President Lula's propaganda when he was here in Brazil? He was invited to have dinner with the President, who talked about Fome Zero (Zero Starvation), a social program supposed to provide every citizen in the country at least 3 meals a day. When Lula was elected for the first time, Fome Zero was what he most talked about, during the TV ads before the elections. Now he's already been RE-ELECTED and the damn program still has hardly achieved any progress at all. In fact, after the first elections we didn't hear much about it anymore. It was brought up again when Lula runned for President again. And then it was forgotten once more. Bono was so illuded by what he heard from Lula that he actually mentioned President Lula during one of the concerts, and the audience - which consisted of people of a higher social level and, therefore, more access to information and good education - booed him.

At least Muse focuses more on giving one hell of a good live show, to make audiences get their money's worth.

As far as I remember, so does U2. The only anti-poverty speech Bono actually made during the Vertigo Tour gigs was before playing One.
During the ATYCLB, I don't even remember hearing any anti-poverty speech.
And during the Zoo TV tour... No comment. ;)

The U2 I saw during the Elevation Tour was way more focused on putting a good live show, rather than giving speeches or putting make-up and acting like clowns. I guess they were sick of all the extravagant bullshit from the 'Popmart' Tour, which was sort of embarassing considering that the eye candy live stage was more entertaining than the poor performances they were giving.
I went to see them in 2001 when they were mainly focused on the music itself, and it was one hell of a great show. ATYCL was a great album, and it took a good part of the setlist.

The Vertigo Tour had way too many songs from HTDAAB, which was way too mellow radio friendly Coldplay style of songs. By then they had raised ticket prices by more than 50%, and for a band that is constantly talking about fighting poverty, it seems like they were more concerned about taking more money from their fans.

It was just fuckin' amazing!!!! It's the best thing I ever heard or seen live in my life!!!
But I never saw Queen live. I'm only 22.
To Raf: I don't know if Matt is better than Freddie. They are differents. But for sure, Matt is a better pianist, but Fred's voice is better thn Matt's. And also, Freddie is a legend.
Matt is an amazing guitar player. Freddie couldn't play 3 chords I think.
I love both them, they are my music idols (also could include Brian!!!)

To Marial B: thanks!!!

By the way, I hate U2!!!

Cheers!!
