Here's one for you freedom of speech mongers.

Personally, I can't see anything wrong with this new rule. It is an "association". Much like a clubhouse, if you'll pardon the pun. Constitutionality should not play a part in this decision.

Now, let's see the MLB try this!

Golfweek magazine reported on its Web site Monday that speaking English will be a requirement starting in 2009, with players who have been LPGA members for two years facing suspension if they can't pass an oral evaluation of English skills.

I can't see how this is a violation of the First Amendment. The First Amendment protects us from the government. Private organizations shouldn't be held accountable to it.


Creativity can always cover for a lack of knowledge.

Oh, it's not. But their gonna be slaughtered for infringing on rights, and this is the excuse they'll use.

You are absolutely correct, private orgs should not be held accountable. But you remember all those private clubs that didn't allow Blacks got crucified.
