I ask this because i realy love to film, And i want to know what brand/model the bootleggers used on for example, Knebworth 86(That camera is great with zooming and very clear).
I want to bootleg the QPR ahoy show 7th october, And im gonna use the Sony hc-53e.
I think that they used alot of sony and MAYBE some philips, However i dont think that they could do so much there, The most Philips camcorders where about 60-80cm long and about 2 kg.

Are you aware of the fact that the camcorders used at the Knebworth gig back in 1986 were roughly the size of a static caravan, weighed about the same as an adult African Elephant and cost upwards of £1,000,000?

fatty.

And were powered by a Chinaman on a stationary bike - you'd have to buy an extra ticket for him.

Yes i was aware of that, But i dont think that they used beta.
I think they used VHS or VHS-C because Beta is worser quality then The 2 above.
Whatever camera was used i thihk that the quality of that old thing is truly magnificent(for a 1986 home camcorder)

It's actually a bit wasted time to camcorder film a concert.
The result isn't the best. Shakes, defuse zoome, offen bad sound on video camera do to mic not made for load sound.
It's better to have a great audience recording, than a bad camcorder film.
Ok, it IS possible to get a ok film, but in smaller venues on 2nd floor. Hold camera steady, and use special microphone.
But, you get very tierd to look into the camera sreen.
It's easyer to get a better audio recording.

I guess I won't be buying your bootleg, then. Maybe you should use your cell phone?

Are you fucked in the head??

Beta was and always has been better quality than VHS tapes. I saw a YouTube video comparing Beta and VHS off-air recordings of the same episode of some game show from the 70's or 80's, and the Beta HARDLY looked like it was played many times! Whereas the VHS was horrible.
