We all know we have a recording of this show with known lineage, the first of the Jazz tour.
I listened to it carefully last week and enjoyed every minute of it. The band is obviously nervous so it will not be the best show you'll ever hear. But a very interesting one. During this show 2 members have their setlist wrong, Freddie has to correct them(twice)and especially when Roger is drumming the beginning of SHA it is really funny:-) I listened to Led Zeppelin a lot the last few months and they are known for starting the tour with a rusty show. here's evidence it happened to Queen aswell.

Now, I saw on the queenlive.ca site there's also a recording of the 2nd show in Memphis, unfortunately it is not circulating.
It would be very interesting to hear whether they were still as nervous as the first night. So maybe, if we, as a community pull together and show we're really in it for the music the taper will change his mind and share it. I believe Sir GH once wrote something about this show.

I'm sure that when we show more respect for each other, the recordings and the tapers better and more recordings come are way. And we could have more and better discussions about the shows and Queen's history as a live band.
Recently the Zeppelin community was full of joy again when uncirculated tapes of the Chicago'75 shows showed up. My hope is that in the future more will happen in this community aswell.

I had contact with this guy as well. If I recall correctly, his grandfather taped the show. Due to personal memories he will not share, sell nor trade it.

That's a reason I do not understand actually. The fact other people have a copy of his recording doesn't change a thing about his memories. It makes it even better, now more people will know the story of this recording and it will make it even more special(that would be my logic). But of course, if it is the wish of the possessor of the taper we can't do anything about it. thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately some people just have that mentality.  A couple years back I exchanged emails with the taper of Syracuse 77, and it was the same story (among other excuses).
