It's been interesting, even entertaining watching the various opinions pop up since Q+PR announced that they were doing a new album....and then after going to pains to try to explain that it wasn't Queen in the old sense, that it was a new, more organic sound, 3 old pro's playing together (even putting down tracks after a couple of takes and very little of these wonderful effects available) and very much enjoying themselves the album came out...! But what do the majority of the reviews harp on about ? It doesn't sound like Queen...he's not like Freddie Mercury...the lyrics are trite...!!! Oh, Come On !!! The Queen sound is..harmony guitars/vocals..that's it ??? No, I forgot the important touch..the Fun. "Cosmos Rockin'" isn't going to win any Ivor Novello awards but it does what it says on the can ! And there are those who HATE "Call Me"...that's got all of the Old Queen elements in it and is ridiculously catchy.."C-lebrity" is a great rocker..."Say It's Not True" - not too trite for anyone I hope, very Old Queen !!! Right, I've had my say, but those of you who, like me are old enough to remember when "We Are The Champions" first came out, did you really like it ? It was completely different to their NATO/DATR stuff..."Don't Stop Me Now" did fairly pants in the charts (was it no.11 or 13 it got to ???), "I Want To Break Free" would have only sold half a dozen if not for the video that went with it (yes, we all love it now, but when it came out ????? - not Queen at all) The point I've been making is, listen to the album, it really is a grower, the Old Queen sound is there - maybe the next album will contain those grandiose productions that Joe Public relates to Queen with ! As it is, these 3 exceptional musicians are creating this music ultimately for themselves and hoping we like what they've done.
Thanks for your time !!

You're wasting your time mate. This topic is the never ending fucking story. The best part about it is I'll bet Brian, Roger or for that matter Paul couldn't give a flying fuck what anyone on here thinks about what they should call themselves and don't lose a seconds sleep over it. They're playing to thousands of people every night and I'm sure the new album has put a few extra quid in their pockets too. But a few folk on Queenzone and the media don't approve, I'm sure they're gutted!!

You are right its not the old Queen, only for the fact that Paul Rodgers cannot match Freddie in terms of musical talent, charisma. Give Paul Rodgers his due he co-wrote a couple of great tracks All Right Now, and Feel Like Makin Love, but that does not entitle him to be put on the same pedestal as the former great one himself.
I told a girlfriend of mine in the Ukraine to watch out for the Queen concert in Kharkov, I wish I hadn't, lord knows what Brian May and Roger Taylor were thinking after performing with the best in Freddie Mercury and John Deacon for 20yrs, the best and only entertaining parts were Bo Rhap and Bijou, I suppose performing with someone like Paul Rodgers gives Brian May and Roger Taylor some kudos in the metal world after all the flamboyance of Mr Mercury and his opera to the masses line and the delve into Funk Rock which was and is damm good imo especially Dragon Attack and Back Chat and Hot Space tracks performed on the Queen On Fire release, in general that was an ass kicking performance of immense proportions, of which I haven't witnessed since not even Live Aid excepting Rock You and Champions.
I Want To Break Free was Brr..illiant stand alone song, and would have been a even bigger hit in other territories if it wasn't for that ridiculous Coronation Street Story video. I was living in Germany at the time when it was released and had visited a neigbouring US Army Base,  the family and I walked into l a dining area and lo and behold with a loud blast came that huge guitar intro full volume reverberating around those 4 walls with these U.S. Soldiers really down with this song,  after speaking with a few of them at the time they said Queen had fckd up big time in America with this vid.

I'm sure they don't care either and are inconsolable that some people with nothing better to do don't like them
