For all you saps you partook in that votenumber1.com poll (self included Bon Jovi ashamist), here's one we should have wasted our time on:

AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 9, 2008—What are the milestones that signify humanity's most important achievements? From penicillin to George Carlin to The American Civil Rights Movement, thousands have weighed in on an online poll inspired by Tabula Rasa's Operation Immortality™. Tabula Rasa® is a fast-paced massively multiplayer online (MMO) game that puts you in the middle of an intergalactic fight to save humanity. The results of the polls are among the many digitized items stored on the "Immortality Drive" that will be taken to space by legendary game designer Richard Garriott, who travels to the International Space Station (ISS) on Oct.12.
The poll results, including top 10 listings in each category, can be viewed at OperationImmortality.com. The results show a wide range of interests and opinions from the thousands of people who voted on humanity's greatest achievements during the last two months. Among the results:

Greatest Medical Breakthrough of All Time - Penicillin

Greatest Poet of All Time - William Shakespeare

Funniest Comedian of All Time - George Carlin

Earth's Greatest Social Movement - American Civil Rights Movement

Greatest Tech Breakthrough of All Time - The Internet

Greatest Song of All Time - Led Zeppelin/Stairway to Heaven

Greatest Band/Musical Artist - The Beatles

whoever voted the Civil Rights movement as the Earth's Greatest Social Movement has obviously never been in the queue for the toilet/bathroom at the old Wembley Stadium after 70,000 people have eaten a burger at roughly the same time as each other
