Lol, it as a pretty good cover. I thought CHRIST, THE LEAD GUITARIST SHOULD LET THE OTHER ONE PLAY THE SOLOS... but then I remembered it was Led Zeppelin, so that's ok. The singer really nails Plant.

PS: My friend who's a drummer is a Zep fan and we play Rock 'N Roll from time to time, and I've been told I sound a bit like Robert Plant when I sing Rock 'N Roll. That'd be really ironic, don't you think?

Cheers,
Hor

Ha!! My pals and I used to try Rock and Roll.  My throat was always too wrecked if I did more than one verse though, so we used to compromise and play Kashmir instead.

I gotta say, as far as Youtube covers go, that guys one of the best sounding singers I've come across.  I wonder if he does original stuff.

LOL. My band's never tried Rock and Roll during practice, yet (though I'd love to do it someday).
We have jammed out bits of Kashmir here and there, but never fully yet. Was interesting though :-)

But right now, we're not practicing or gigging for the remainder of the year, as our guitarist Josh is working CRAZY hours at the warehouse he works at, as his renovation project (to turn his basement into a *proper* practice/studio recording space) has cost him $50K CDN so far, which includes an unforeseen foundation repair that was discovered at the beginning of the project, and cost him $23K CDN. They found that over the years (as this is an old house we're talking about here), there were cracks caused by water damage, and so the repair work was necessitated :-(

As well, he's having lower jaw reconstruction surgery on Nov. 26th to fix a severe underbite that, if not corrected, will basically leave him unable to eat by the time he's an old man, and after that he'll be out of commission basically for 6 weeks.

Kinda sucks, but at least me and Jerry will have lots of time to discuss our plans for next year, as well as potentially working on new material on the side :P

Hey, that's something.  My band disintegrated once we left our music college...  the frustrating thing is, we're all still here, and we all still want to jam.  I'm wondering if they're... waiting for me to throw new songs at them, or something?  I mean when we were still playing they very much looked at me to be the musical leader, and in turn they'd fire me up with their nutty behaviour.

I'm wondering, yeah..... what the fuck should I do.  Just start recording an album on my own, or what?  haha.

My suggestion: Demo any ideas you have, to disk (meaning your hard drive :-) ), and try and float it as a 'possible - maybe we can try this that?'-type idea to them?

That's so fing cool.
It's stuff like that which defines the great potential of youtube.
Check out their Ten Years Gone. It's sick!

I can't get over that vocalist. Not only the best Plant emulation I've ever heard but probably the best emulation of a famous singer period.

I've checked out more videos of his. He's a very talented dude. Plays guitar as well.
Does a really nice You're My Best Friend.

I think you and Zebonka should record something. Send the files over the net. It's rather easy really. And it'd be a neat project.

People are doing it with the Queen remakes on the front page of QZ, so why not do another song? You two could write something and record it, and blow Treasure Moment off of Queenzone.

The idea has merit.  The reason I've never tried it with original songs is the same reason I have trouble pitching them to people in 'real life', though.  I tend to write very personal stuff - I wrote a funny rock song that the band could play together and have fun, and then when it came time for the songs I wrote about myself, I shooed the band off stage and did it on my own.

Hehe.  I have to admit it is definitely holding me back from writing these days.  Worst writers block I've ever had, the ideas are bursting to get out.  But they're stuck I think.

It would help if I had a soundproof room I could make hellish noise in.
