October 22, 2008 06:00 pm | 30 years after the first Queen album and 17 years after Freddie Mercury's death the legendary group is to perform at Budapest's Sportaréna next Tuesday (Oct 28). And yes, we have free tickets for you!

November 24, 1991 was a grim day for rockers: just one day after letting the world know he was HIV positive, Freddie Mercury died. While it was surely the end of an era, the death of its lead singer raised the music of Queen to the heights of that of the Beatles, and has been followed only by Nirvana ever since.
While Freddie can never be replaced, his music and tragic death inspired the elite of the pop culture. The concert in Wembley Stadium commemorating the unique singer featured David Bowie, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Elton John and George Michael.
And although the attempts of other band members to ground solo careers were insignificant compared to the success of the original group, the musical We Will Rock You, rocked not only London and the Broadway, but gained attention and success worldwide.
Former Queen members and former Bad Company and Free frontman Paul Rodgers made their first appearance together in 2004, which was swiftly followed by a world tour.
In 2007 the musicians announced that they started to record a new studio album. In line with the new CD, the band launched a four-month tour and will hit Budapest on Oct 28.
The Budapest Sun is giving away two tickets to those who share their opinions on the column on page four.
