Hmm, Beckham is probably in a bad position to talk about "too much money" but he is  not overhyped imo. I think only in England a world class football player can be hated by tabloids and "fans" as much as Beckham was hated during his carreer. Beckham, however, returned to the national team when he was called with no grudge in 2007 and plays for his country when he is asked. He really did not have to do it and other players had certainly left the country for good after all what happened.

After Northern Ireland beat England 1-0 a few years back [/img]  beckham took the time to come over to the Alex Russell Stand to clap the Northern Ireland supporters. He didn't have to do that - England may well have just been knocked out of the competition and he would've known the abuse that would follow in the English gutter press. But he still had the class to acknowledge the punters and therefore gets a lot of credit from me.

I dont think he is as much hated as his wife is. Apart from that episode after a certain world cup match, where he tickled the back of someone's knees with an invisible hatchet, he doesnt quite match up to Victoria in the most hated stakes. When the pair where living in "Beckham Palace" there wasnt a day when she wasnt in the papers. Personally I think she is way overhyped imo.

"Oh, the irony" I'd say, if I cared enough to say it. Oh damn, I just did.
