dunno what's wrong in asking for other people's experiences. just in case there are hundreds - why do i have to check all of them? - ask your shrink about feeling disturbed by harmless questions.

The reason being that no one but yourself can judge what you find an enjoyable forum, perhaps?

Deep purple reminds me of Tinky Winky.

And of a tomato wearing tight braces(BrE)/suspenders(AmE)

You obviously fail to realize the subjectivity in 'like QZ'. Pity. I can now understand why a google-search is too much to ask of you.

Nothing bad in asking such a question. But probably the answer is that nobody knows anything about DP forums. And can`t give advice. I would if I could. But unfortunately I don`t know. Though I would like to get into such a forum myself. I like Deep Purple! Good rock!

Is this an example of schizophrenia?

When you say Deep Purple, you mean the Blackmore + Gillan variety, right?

Because if you mean the watered down shit that's been touring since the mid 90's, you don't deserve a forum! Haha.

Well, I wouldn't say that...I mean, we need some place to keep Treasure Moment & Company, don't we?

As if that last tour with Blackmore was a pleasure to watch...!
I never seen such a disgrace on a stage in my life. Very, VERY unprofessional.

On the other hand - when Steve Morse joined the band, it was like a cool breaze. Great player, pleasure on stage again and a smooth sounding band.
Until Gillan lost his voice...

I never seen such a disgrace on a stage in my life. Very, VERY unprofessional. The Man in Black was rarely on stage (he only came out for his solo's - the rest of the show he was not even playing!) and when he was, the best thing he could come up with was calling his bandmates names. IN THE MICROPHONE, for everybody to hear!

that's completely right. i attended several shows of the last blackers, the short satriani and the first morse tour respectively ... and aftershows the guys spoke frankly about what had been obvious on stage.

Holy mackerel I didn't mean the tour.  I meant their recorded output.  Fuck the tours; Gillan has sounded like an old woman since the late 90's anyway!

I won't comment on Steve Morse as a player, or even his worth in Deep Purple, but that Montreux show that was on telly a while back was an utter snooze on his part.  Maybe it was just a bad night.

Didn't see the Montreux show.
But it must have been an off-night then. Morse is realy a great player! (Although totally different to Blackmore of course (OR Bolin for that matter).

But if you are talking STUDIO, then I would not even go back to the mid 90's.
The last great record that was released under the DP name was Stormbringer!
(But I have to admit that I found Purpendicular (first with Morse) far from bad and that it does have some great moments)
