An article from MLive.com says:

Although he is always writing music, Rodgers explained the new material has yet to find a home. He is unsure whether it will settle within the Queen or Bad Company camps.

"I'm always writing songs but they're not really band specific," Rodgers said. "I wrote a lot of songs for the new Queen album. We wrote songs separately and together and I have a lot of material. I'm working on new ideas all the time. It's one of the things I want to do. They're not really specifically for Bad Company. So we'll see how it goes.

Well, I´d rather see Brian and Roger do either solo stuff of together as "Queen" than teaming up with Paul again. I´d much rather have a new album and a tour made from the heart than to bring in a singer who rather not sing Queen songs. No disrespect to Paul, he´s an amazing singer and I really enjoy TCR and very much enjoyed the 2005 gig I saw. But let him do his thing...

I think it's not really up to Paul to decide who plays his material. Brian and Roger have to like the stuff, they are not his session musicians.

I also agree with Major Tom, the album and the tour were ok. I would love to see Brian and Roger working together again, but there is no need to bring back Paul Rodgers. He did well, but I think they should consider this project closed.

When Paul says he wrote a lot of songs for the Queen album, I take that to mean that he has a lot of songs left over, which presumably weren't used cos Bri and Rog didn't rate them highly enough.  Him saying that these won't necessarily be recorded with Bad Co says, to me, that the other option is to have them as solo tracks.  I don't think in any way, as the interviewer seems to suggest, that it is a case of they will be done either with Bad Co or Queen.  I don't see any more recording with Queen.

In response to the thread title of 'Paul leaves an open door' - this is good, as long as someone tells him to fuck off through it, close it on the way out, and not to come back through it!!!

Totally agreed with your first paragraph. He is not sure if he is going to use them with Bad Co or solo.

LOL at the second paragraph :D

Honestly I spent 4 years telling people to have an open mind about Q+PR, to accept the music on it's own merits,

I'm bored now.  Fuck off, Paul Rodgers, I want to see Brian and Roger.

It's better Paul leaves Queen. I think in this way,, it was just a partnership to Paul get famous again,, i prefer Queen without Paul because, Rodgers is not Queen singer... Freddie was Queen singer and no one go to replace Freddie!!

If Paul wrotte music,, he can play the music with Bad Co.,,, The music was written by him!!!,, But if it was Bri e Rog whos write, i think is unfair he play with Bad Co.

Bem-vindo! Relaxa, se encherem o saco por causa do inglês, ignora. Pergunta como anda o português do babaca...rs

Now in English, so that it does not look unpolite of me to write only in Portuguese to my fellow Brazilian:

Welcome! Relax, if they piss you because of your English, ignore it. Ask the idiot how are his Portuguese skills going... :)

queenpaulo, I am not involved with any Brazilian site in particular, but I admire them all and gladly I have many friends in this field. I am fortunate enough to be able to call Clara, Lady, Claudia El and many other site or email group owners as friends. Not to mention my countless dear friends, whom, like me, have no special internet site or group to offer to the community, but enjoy them all.

I am sorry if I incited you to write in Portuguese here, but I try not to do so, in respect for the majority that (still) don't speak our native language. :)

I am very happy to have yet another Brazilian fan in Queenzone. We are a very fastly growing community here. And let us have those posts coming, regardless of how good we write in English. As long as we can interact, we should do so. If somebody doesn't like it, well, good for him/her, I am quite sure that is not the majority's spirit :D

Keep on running, I mean, rocking! ;)

I'd be cool with Brian Rog and Paul teaming up again for new music....

way better than no music....

doesn't seem to look likely though....

If they team up with Jeff Scott Soto it would be cool too....and of course everyone will complain again for why do they still use the name, why do they feel the need to make music, why don't they just die, why

If Brian and Roger make new music I just hope Brian's head is fully into it....last time he was also writing a thesis / books....as he is now....

I don't care if Paul lives Queen, and Brian and Roger search for new singer to Queen,,, i just want to see Queen again,, in concert as Freddie said "The Show Must Go On"...

It's better Bri and Rog playing in concerts than they live with them past....

So i hope Queen make concerts,,, and Taylor said that they want to make a Tour in 2010...

With or Without Paul,, i want to see Queen Happy again....

My feelings towards the QPR project are actually more or less as Zebonka´s:

I happily accepted Brian+Rog´s teaming with Paul; I discovered Paul´s voice and skills and liked the way he sang the Queen catalogue; I went to 5 shows; I told my friends they should be open minded and see it as a whole new thing in spite of the use of the Queen name; I never wanted to compare Paul with Freddie; I LIKED TCR album (I played it today in my car after a couple of months); I wanted the three of them continuing making new music, etc etc etc

But now .... ok, Paul. If you wanna quit, whatever is the reason, I wish you good luck. I bought your Glasgow DVD too. I am one of those Queen fans that opened their hearts to you. That´s it. Thanks and goodbye.

I hope Brian and Roger, the real reason for wich I went to the shows, bought the albums and DVD´s, forget Paul and keep on collaborating, making new music and playing (in bigger or smaller venues, I don´t care) for their fans. Thousands and thousands of fans all around the world.

I like and support many bands, but Brian and Roger are still the central point of all my musical preferences .... and they will be til the end !

It's a shame Paul has left (though I understand him...)

I liked the album alot. a second album would have been even better, I'm sure
I liked the fact the he was Paul, and not a second rate Freddie (anyone who tries to be freddie, are bound to be second rate)

now; I would love to see Brian and Roger work together - but they should drop the Queen name. not cause they don't have the right to use it - but because they should recognize their limitations as vocalists / frontmen. none of them have what it takes to carry a whole show when it says "Queen" on the ticket.

problem is; "May & Taylor" probably doesn't sell alot of tickets. Brian May played to less than 1000 people when he visited my country on his last solo tour. and the QPR band is basically the Brian May band (especially in cardiff and birmingham 08!). shows you how the name "Queen" sells tickets

therefore, imo - they should leave the Queen name alone now - and go at it as May & Taylor (in addition to a vocalist if they want to) and stick to smaller venues.

to all of a sudden think they can carry a whole Queen show would be a mistake. the whole b stage thing was great - but when you bring out the big guns, you need a GREAT singer. neither brian or roger are great singers.

smaller venues revisiting more obscure songs would be great
I for one would love to see May, Taylor & Soto. Soto probably know every Queen songs already
