Queen New York, NY, USA Madison Square Garden December 1, 1977 This is a merge of two sources, almost completing the show. Source 1 was recorded on a 90 minute tape (with cuts between most songs), while the inferior source 2 was done on two 60-min tapes. I made this compilation a few years back, prior to getting the master copy of the second source... but it sounds maybe 1% better than what was used here. This show is one of my personal favourites. While the sound isn't superb, it perfectly captures the band still working hard with plenty to prove, and proving it throughout. Source 1: AUD > Master Cassette > 1st Gen Cassette > WAV > CDR (x) Source 2 (taped by Rob Schoorl): AUD > Master Cassette > 1st Gen Cassette > ? > CDR (x) Disc 1: 01. We Will Rock You (slow) 02. We Will Rock You (fast) 03. Brighton Rock 04. Somebody To Love 05. It's Late 06. Death On Two Legs 07. Killer Queen 08. Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy 09. I'm In Love With My Car 10. Get Down Make Love 11. The Millionaire Waltz 12. You're My Best Friend 13. Spread Your Wings 14. Liar 15. Love Of My Life 16. '39 17. My Melancholy Blues Disc 2: 01. White Man 02. Freddie solo 03. Brian solo 04. The Prophet's Song 05. Now I'm Here 06. Stone Cold Crazy 07. Bohemian Rhapsody 08. Keep Yourself Alive 09. Tie Your Mother Down 10. We Will Rock You 11. We Are The Champions 12. Sheer Heart Attack 13. Jailhouse Rock (cut)

I assume this is the concert with the fast ending Spread Your Wings (similar to BBC version). It will be nice to have an upgrade of this. Thanks

Yessir... this is the best available recording of Queen doing this version on stage. So, what do we think - was this change Roger's idea, ultimately voted down by the other 3 members of the band?

I don't know who decided not to play the fast end after this tour but this end sounds really amazing... It's a shame they didn't do it more...

I think they already had so much songs in set list with "difficult" structure (various tempos combined into one song, solos, etc etc) so maybe it was wise decision to leave this song in simple way. What do you think? But personally i like this "live"version more

Yeah, you're probably right. Maybe they thought they'd keep the latest single closer to the way people knew it from hearing it on the radio.

Maybe John put his foot down ... Freddie: But John darling, your song really kicks ass now. John: I get two lousy songs to play live and you want destroy one of them. Roger: OK, can we go violently "black" and change it to a funky ending? Brian: Over my dead body. John: Listen guys, ever since we sacked John Reid, I have been handling the purse strings. If you ever want to see another paycheck ...

If you ever want to see another paycheck ... Excellent !! That could be an excellent explanation ;o) It juss misses the usual Freddie's "Fuck Off" at the end !
