Just kidding.  I'm keeping all of mine.

Who in their right mind sells right now?  The economy is way down, people are not buying right now.  You're getting pennies on the dollar for stuff.

I would suggest a job.  and maybe another CD rack.  Box Sets and CDs are invading (again).

And Ducksoup, we know.  No need to start another thread.

Maybe the people who are selling do have a job.  Maybe the reason they're selling is not just about making space.  Maybe it's not even about making large sums of money.  Maybe they just got bored of collecting and because there's not so much for sale, don't add to their collections anymore.  And maybe there are people out there who are buying the small amount of rarities that appear! (Even if you're not or you just don't see it). Maybe it's just about the music and not the collecting - you know, keep your standard CDs, singles boxsets and DVDs and get rid of the duplicates.  Maybe they just don't need it or want it anymore.

Maybe they shouldn't have bought it in the first place.  Maybe they should spend their money a little more wisely.  Maybe they shouldn't have bought The Miracle UK CD Single.  Maybe they should have invested in junk bonds in the late 80s.  Maybe they would be able to quit their job now.

You're right, Jim.  That's one heck of a lot of maybe's.

Maybe someone on Queenzone will buy something from you.

I think he's is taking the piss because you're not supposed to use this forum to sell stuff, only trade. A lot of people abuse the fourm's rules, and since there's effectively no moderator, ridicule seems to be the only recourse.

Or he's an idiot -- either way is good :)

Microwave, Surely I should be able to buy what I want when I want to and sell on if I want to as well? I don't think that anyone has the right to tell me otherwise. If you're not interested in buying, it's simple, don't respond. I don't see the need to go shooting people down in flames for wanting to sell stuff on. I work, I work hard and I earn a living, but I am getting married and need some extra cash, and probably some space too. I love my Queen collection and spent many a great day sourcing items and adding to it, but the time has come for it to go - no harm in that. It doesn't mean I'm not of the right mind, and there are people out there still collecting, despite the recession. I'm not looking for big bucks on my stuff, I'd be glad just to make back what I spent. But if that can't happen, so be it.

As for "breaking rules", I thought it was just bootlegs we weren't allowed to sell here (I'm sure there was a thread concerning this before). If I'm on the wrong forum, then sorry, that would be a mistake, my sincerest apologies.

And QueenPaulo, where do you think you get your Queen items from? Did it not cross your mind that the reason you have your stuff is because someone sold it on? And I bet you didn't lecture them on selling their stuff when you were buying it.

Jim,

Here's where you went wrong:

but I am getting married and need some extra cash,

You'll never earn enough selling your entire Queen collection to pay for the divorce.
Think it over...  put the fiance on ebay instead.

Yes, we are not supposed to be SELLING on here.  Exactly!!! No moderation!!!

You could be a moron and do what some people do:  Start a "I'm selling my Queen Collection" thread with a link to ebay, which is a shamless ploy at (1) free advertising and (2) using QZone as a portal.  Pretty easy to trust a "Queenzone Diety" rather than a "Newbie" and that's just plain wrong.  The Newbie may be more honest and trustworthy than the Diety, yet won't get the same benefit in making money.

You are such a hypocrite.
The only comment you gave your buddy Dave when he was doing exactly the same (advertising his sales on Queenzone) was: and I quote you: "sweet".

Ducksoup:

I would be a hypocrite if I was starting these threads, but I'm not.  I don't need to sell my Queen Collection.  When I buy something, it's because I want it.  You, on the other hand, really don't care... it's just about making a little money off of someone else's work.

You're just pissed because I'm right.  It's not fair what you do, but you'll keep going.

I didn't pay Dave that two grand, I just commented at his take.  Besides, Dave offers us quite a nice website.  All you do is start "I'm Selling" threads every two weeks or so.

A hypocrite is a person who's actions belie stated beliefs.  Again, I have not sold anything or linked anyone to what I'm selling on ebay.  That's you.

Interestingly enough, take a look at these two definitions.  They apply to you:

Bootleg:  something, as a recording, made, reproduced, or sold illegaly or without authorization
Bootlegger:  To make, transport, or sell something illegally, without registration, or payment of taxes.

What the fuck are you talking about twat?
I'm not a bootlegger.
I videotape concerts. That's it.

Clearly you don't know the difference between a taper and a bootlegger.
I feel sorry for your ignorance.

Do you have proof for this?

Man, what is your problem??
Since when is it a crime in here to link to private auctions on eBay or where ever?
It never was, it never will be. Here on QZ, we have ZERO problems with people that want or need to sell a part of their collection presenting it straight to a group of people who might have interest in the items. Any "official" moderator of QZ would tell you the same.

'Making money from other peoples work'?? 'Unfair'??? WTF??
Give me a break - I never knew that clearing the attic was questionable. As much as selling records or memorabilia has NEVER been a questionable activity. If it comes from one's personal collection, or if one makes a living out of 'dealing' records does not make a difference. If you have a problem with it, you better complain to eBay or whatever auction or sale website, for there are MILLIONS of people clearing their attic every single day.

Jees, it even seems that you find it unnatural for people to first want an item and later (maybe years or decades later) not seeing the same emotional value in them anymore and decide that they want to part with it. It's fine if you want to hold on to all the stuff you ever buy for the rest of your days - pascifiers and babydolls included. Be aware though: it takes space!  Sorry, but if you are aged between 25 and 35 and still treasure all the stuff that you bought 15 to 20 years ago as much as you did back in the day, THEN there is something wrong with you!

And you are getting out of line with that bootlegging stuff you accuse Ducksoup of. (AGAIN!)
Neither of your definitions apply to him. You are unrightfully accusing someone of illegal activities. In public! There actually is a legal definition for THAT!
Go somewhere else with your obvious frustrations about God knows what. Cause it obviously is not Ducksoup selling his collection - if that IS the thing that realy frustrates you, you are pretty pathetic.

You said it all. Thanks for that.

Some additions from my side about this "selling your queen collection" thing Microwave seems to have such a big problem with (altough I don't think that's his real problem with me. He's just trying to bully me..)

If we read the subtitle of this Queen collecting and trading forum it reads:
Discuss your recordings, swapping , no selling

To me, and please YourValentine or Richard (the forum mods/owner) correct me if I'm wrong, the 'no selling' part has to do with recordings as in ROIO's and VOIO's. We all know ROIO's and VOIO's are for free trade only (swapping): hence the 'no selling' part in the subtitle.

Of course it's not forbidden to sell a Queen fan some LPs singles or memorabilia you have from your own personal collection and don't want anymore. Why would it be? On Queen's official webforum there's even a special corner for this (http://queenforum.parlophone.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=36&sid=720476ce98486f5164dc9d8190de2710
Also, as long as the official fan club publishes magazines one can send in personal adds to be published for free in the fanclub magazine. No problem at all.

Microwave just can't stand me since the day I called most of his posts childish in another topic.
That's when he started with al this childish bullyin' and libel at me.

But listen Microwave, there's one thing you just must clearly understand:LIBEL (falsely accusing someone of punishable acts) is a crime. Also in your country.
You did just that to me. TWICE. Think about it.

I don't understand what Microwave is going on about.

What is the problem? Ducksoup bought official products and now wants to sell them. That is not only possible but it is also his right(unless the person who brought the product on the market decided otherwise, for example a free cd that was given away with a newspaper and may only be sold together with that newspaper)! And that bit between brackets is a regulation we only know in Belgium. From an intellectual property law- point of view there's no problem whatsoever.

There's totally no problem selling such items and in my view also no problem to promote them here.
If you want to sell your car you'd go to a forum about cars, not?
